Is Netflix down? All the other sites you can watch movies on instead
With COVID-19 still forcing people to stay indoors, bingewatching has been at an all-time high. But, what if Netflix is down? Or, what if you’ve watched everything on Netflix at least once? Never fear! Here are some other sites you can watch movies on instead.
HBO Max
For movie & TV lovers, HBO Max is an absolute must. The site has new feature films like The Little Things starring Denzel Washington, as well as Hollywood classics like The Shining and The Graduate.
HBO Max also has no shortage of TV shows to binge. You can watch the first season of Euphoria, plus the brand new hour-long specials. You can also sink your teeth into new binge-worthy series like The Flight Attendant and revisit old classics like FRIENDS, The Sopranos, Sex and the City, and Gossip Girl. It’s pretty much a win-win!
HBO Max was just adopted from HBO and is a great deal with 10,000 hours of movies and series (and growing) for only $14.99 a month. Get your subscription ASAP – you won’t regret it!
Hulu
When it comes to streaming sites, Hulu has everything you could want. For fans of reality TV, the site has titles like Married at First Sight, My 600 Pound Life, and America’s Next Top Model, which, in our opinion, is definitely an advantage over Netflix.
Hulu also has riveting series like the controversial A Teacher, starring Kate Mara as a high school teacher who has an illicit relationship with her student, as well as devastating romances like Normal People. Hulu also has a huge number of films, including, (but not limited to): Deadpool, Run, Prisoners, and Date Night.
Hulu is also much cheaper than most popular streaming sites at $5.99 a month. Hulu Premium comes at $11.99 a month, and offers access to all of Hulu’s original programming.
Showtime
When it comes to streaming, Showtime is another fool-proof option. On the site, you can stream shows like Your Honor, starring Bryan Cranston, all eleven seasons of Shameless, Billions, and The L Word. You can also watch your favorite films, like Do the Right Thing, and 1917. All this is possible for only 10.99 a month.
Amazon Prime Video
If you’re an Amazon Prime subscriber, you have a whole world of awesome viewing opportunities open to you. Included are new must-sees like I’m Your Woman, classic films like Lost in Translation, and nail-biting, riveting action faves like Face/Off and Mission Impossible: Fallout.
And if you’re more of a TV fan, the site has you covered. You can watch The Twilight Zone, or binge-worthy Homeland, or buckle in for all twenty-two seasons of Law and Order: SVU. All of this for $8.99 a month plus tax? Count. Us. In.
Disney Plus
Ever since its recent inception, Disney Plus has been all the rage, and for a good reason. On the site, you can binge your favorite Disney TV shows, like The Mandalorian, WandaVision, the newcomer critics are raving about, and High School Musical: The Musical – The Series.
You can also go back to your childhood roots and watch your favorite classic Disney movies, like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinnochio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and many, many more. All this – just for $6.99 a month! That’s a steal if we ever heard one.
Criterion Channel
If you’re a film nerd, the Criterion Channel is definitely worth your while. For just $9.99 a month, you have access to 2,429 movies of all genres and types. You can binge films from great, classic directors like Roberto Rosselini, Charlie Chaplin, Terrence Malick, Martin Scorsese, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Ingmar Bergman, and many, many more.
