Is HBO Max on Fire TV? Where you can watch the streaming service

HBO Max is one of the many new streaming platforms offering a buttload of buzz-worthy content. HBO Max, however, has an added advantage over other streaming giants like Netflix & Disney+. The service comes bearing the years of captivating production pieces of Warner Bros. From famed original shows to upcoming superhero spectacles, HBO Max has something for everyone.

WarnerMedia launched HBO Max earlier this year boasting more than 10,000 hours of premium content –  bundling all of HBO together with even more movies, shows, and Max Originals – but the app’s accessibility wasn’t as frictionless as its parent company hoped.

HBO Max wasn’t able to crack carriage deals with major distributors like Amazon Fire TV & Roku –  which control 70% of the U.S. streaming media player market, according to Parks Associates –  until recently. If you’re still confused and don’t know how to stream HBO Max’s amazing content, here’s a breakdown of all the platforms you can use to watch HBO Max.

Amazon Fire TV & tablet devices

“Alexa, find HBO Max.”

After long-drawn backroom discussions between Amazon & WarnerMedia, Amazon Fire TV users can finally stream HBO Max on their devices. Seeing as Amazon’s Fire TV platform is easily one of the top contenders in the league of the most widely used media streaming devices, WarnerMedia’s deal will heavily influence HBO Max’s viewership.

The HBO app present on Fire TV & tablets will automatically update to become the HBO Max app. Existing users can use their current HBO credentials to log in to the HBO Max app. New customers can avail the service for a subscription price of $14.99 per month.

Roku Streaming devices

Shaking up the Netflix & Amazon dominated market, HBO Max is now vying to catch the eye of more than 46 million users of Roku TV.

The impending release of Wonder Woman 1984 offered an attractive way to grind the impasse between Roku & AT&T as neither of the companies could risk estranging the millions of DC lovers who would tune in to stream the Gal Gadot-led superhero sequel.

You can get the HBO Max app from the Roku channel store. If you have already been using the HBO app on a Roku device, it will automatically update to become the HBO Max app. You can then use your existing HBO credentials to log in to the app.

Xfinity Flex & X1 devices

With Roku & Amazon in its bag, the fledgling streaming service seems to be pulling all the stops on a quest to future-proof itself.

WarnerMedia recently announced the rollout of the HBO Max app on Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Flex on their official website. This will provide Xfinity customers with access to HBO Max’s full catalog in one integrated experience. Earlier Comcast subscribers had to use other platforms like iOS, Android, Apple TV, or PlayStation console to stream HBO Max.

And the others

HBO Max recently treated its customers to a sweet holiday gift by adding 4K HDR support on Android TV and Google Chromecast with Google TV. Here’s a list of all the other device matrices that support HBO Max.

  • Apple TV‌‌ HD & 4K users can download the HBO Max app from the on-device App Store. But second & third generation ‌‌Apple TV‌‌ owners will need to AirPlay HBO Max content from an iOS device to their TV models.
  • Google’s Android operating system for phones & tablets has an app for Android TV devices, Chromebooks, Google Chromecast, and Chromecast built-in devices will support HBO Max too.
  • Major cable or internet TV providers like AT&T TV, Cox, DirecTV, Hulu, Optimum, Spectrum, and Verizon Fios are all supporting HBO Max.
  • Other devices that support the HBO Max app include Android, Android TV, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and select Samsung internet-connected smart TVs (from 2016 and onward). A desktop web player is also available for streaming on Mac, Windows, and Chromebook devices.
