Is Donald Trump okay? This latest news says “no”

In the latest news concerning Donald Trump’s mental stability, a behind-the-scenes look has been exposed on the president’s turbulent last days in office. In the new book Peril, bestselling author Bob Woodward and acclaimed reporter Robert Costa unveil astonishing claims about the destruction and fragility of the nation’s safety.

Along with countless shocking revelations & allegations concerning the White House, Peril also details how Trump’s top military advisor, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley, took secret action to prevent Trump from potentially ordering a dangerous military strike or launching nuclear weapons.

The latest book reveals a manic Trump in office

Two days after the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol, Woodward and Costa detail that Joint Chief Chairman Mark Milley “was certain that Trump had gone into a serious mental decline in the aftermath of the election, with Trump now all but manic, screaming at officials and constructing his own alternate reality about endless election conspiracies.”

“Milley worried that Trump could ‘go rogue,’” the authors write. “‘You never know what a president’s trigger point is,’ Milley told his senior staff,” according to the book.

The alarming news comes from the writers who interviewed more than 200 White House insiders, which resulted in over 6,000 pages of transcripts. Woodward and Costa obtained documents, calendars, diaries, emails, meeting notes, phone call transcripts, and other records. In these documents is the portrait of an oval office in absolute disarray.

Top military advisor afraid of Trump’s instability

After witnessing the unnerving attack on the U.S. Capitol and watching Trump’s mental decline firsthand, Milley was written to have taken remarkable responsibility in ensuring Donald Trump didn’t initiate nuclear war or other catastrophic global operations.

On January 8th, Milley called a secret meeting in his Pentagon office to review the process for military action, including launching nuclear weapons. Speaking to senior military officials in charge of the National Military Command Center, the Pentagon’s war room, Milley directed them not to take orders from anyone unless he was involved.

“No matter what you are told, you do the procedure. You do the process. And I’m part of that procedure,” Milley told the officers, according to Peril. He allegedly then met with each officer in the room to verbally confirm they understood the gravity of what he meant.

Woodward’s third book on the Donald Trump presidency, Peril recounts behind-the-scenes moments of an unhinged & explosive president, shouting at senior advisers and aides as he refused to leave office.

Trump pressured Pence to overturn election results

Peril also describes the tense confrontation in the Oval Office on January 5th when Donald Trump urged Pence to revoke the election results. It’s described that while the tension grew between the two inside, MAGA supporters could be heard loudly chanting outside near Pennsylvania Avenue.

“If these people say you had the power, wouldn’t you want to?” Trump asked. “I wouldn’t want any one person to have that authority,” Pence replied.

“But wouldn’t it be almost cool to have that power?” Trump asked, according to Woodward and Costa.

“No,” Pence said. He continued, “I’ve done everything I could and then some to find a way around this. It’s simply not possible.” When Pence did not budge, Trump turned on him. “No, no, no!” Trump shouted, according to the authors. “You don’t understand, Mike. You can do this. I don’t want to be your friend anymore if you don’t do this.”

Trump called Pence again the morning of January 6th. “If you don’t do it, I picked the wrong man four years ago,” Trump said, according to the authors. “You’re going to wimp out,” he said, his anger visible to others in the office.

Fortunately, Pence never agreed to Donald Trump’s aggressive demands. What do you think about the latest news concerning Peril? Do you believe that Donald Trump was as mentally unstable as the latest book details? Let us know your thoughts on the latest Donald Trump news in the comments below.
