Fans disappointed with Nintendo Direct: What’s coming to the Switch e-shop

Fans of the Switch console have been waiting for another Nintendo Direct – a video announcement from Nintendo featuring all the new exciting things to come – for over a year. This week fans were told there was a new Direct on the way and people got psyched wondering what fantastic news they were getting – Breath of the Wild 2 news was an expectation for many.

However, fans left the nearly hour-long video announcement feeling disappointed when they didn’t get the announcements they were looking for.

This doesn’t mean there weren’t plenty of games announced to be coming to the Switch e-shop this year though – here’s what you can look forward to playing on your Switch soon.

The Big Titles

Fall Guys

That’s right, the popular whimsical battle royale is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch e-shop. No longer will PlayStation and PC players have an exclusive claim to the game. Everyone can play Fall Guys on Switch sometime this summer.

Outer Wilds

The 2019 action-adventure game Outer Wilds will be coming to Switch in the summer too. This game is beloved for its twisty plot that keeps players guessing so we won’t tell you too much. If you haven’t played it before you’re in for a treat.

Famicom Detective Club

Two Famicom Detective Club games are coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 14. Titled The Missing Heir and The Girl Who Stands Behind these games both take place in Japan, but have been translated for English-speaking audiences.

Samurai Warriors 5

If you’re a big fan of the Samurai Warriors franchise then get ready to rejoice. The fifth installment of the game will be available for purchase in the e-shop sometime this summer. Not much else was announced about the game, so more details are likely on the way.

With a campaign story mode, the ability to play as your own mii, and a speed golf mode this is a cute light-hearted game. You can find the game in the e-shop on June 25, but can be pre-ordered for those inclined.

Tales From the Borderlands

The Borderlands games are a popular space-western franchise, and if you’ve been wanting to play it on the go – well you won’t be able to play any of the shooter games, but the Telltale game is coming to the Nintendo Switch e-shop on March 24.

Apex Legends

The popular free battle royale game Apex Legends will be playable on the Switch as soon as March 9.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

This beloved Legend of Zelda game has been given an HD remaster and reworked motion controls for the Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch Pro. Nintendo will even release special edition Joy-Con controllers inspired by the Hylian Shield & Master Sword to celebrate the game.

Splatoon 3

Coming in 2022, the description reads: “In the wake of chaos, enter the sun-scorched Splatlands and the new city, Splatsville, inhabited by battle-hardened Inklings and Octolings. New weapons, moves, and more await, so be sure to keep an eye out for updates in the future.”
