Planning a trip to Disney World? Here are the best things to do in the parks
Disney World, the ginormous vacation resort where magic happens, is known to attract & enchant millions of people every year. Who can resist encounters with Mickey Mouse or the huge number of rides and other attractions the parks can offer? Nobody.
With Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and the water parks, it’s easy to get lost in the sea of things to do while at the resort. After all, each park is unique in its features ranging from a world of fantasy to the wildest animals you could ever find in nature. Not to mention the parks also come with entertainment & shopping areas, as well as many restaurants.
But, with all these attractions and things to do, you may be thinking: what are the best things to do in the parks when you visit Disney? Don’t worry – we’ve compiled a list of the very best things to do in the Disney Parks to help you narrow it down.
Dining
When it comes to theme parks, many people automatically think of fast food and other not-so-great food options. But at Disney World, you can enjoy some great restaurants without going completely bankrupt. For full service, Disney World has some great high-end and moderately priced options, such as Jiko, The Cooking Place at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Flying Fish at Disney’s BoardWalk.
If you’re looking for something in the fast casual type, there are some great options as well that will keep you and your family on the budget without compromising the quality of your trip.
Some options include Sunshine Seasons at Epcot and Flame Tree Barbecue at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, both blended in the themes of the parks. The first is a food court offering different options, from Asian bites to grilled dishes. Flame Tree is the place for a typical BBQ experience, with all the meats and fixings, amid a place where you get a glimpse of wildlife.
Take a splash at the waterparks
These parks prove that Disney World isn’t just about Cinderella Castle, the Epcot sphere, or the Tower of Terror. The water parks are awesome as well, and they sure deserve your visit. With the lingering heat in Central Florida most of the year, these parks offer a welcome break.
Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon are Disney’s current water parks, and both of them guarantee lots of cool, splashing fun for you and your family. The first is inspired by a wintry landscape that didn’t match very well with Florida. Attractions include Mt. Gushmore, a snow-capped, ninety-foot peak that hosts Summit Plummet slide, and Slush Gusher, a less intense but also fun slide.
Typhoon Lagoon is inspired by a sea village bringing visitors into a world of tropical paradises. Although it was still closed at the time this article was written, it’s expected to open this Summer. Park attractions include a lazy river and Humunga Kowabunga, a five-story fall in the dark that will surely thrill you.
Visit Star Wars Land
One of the newest additions to Hollywood Studios, this sci-fi inspired attraction is a true recreation of the famous saga that will surely hypnotize geeks and die-hard Star Wars fans.
The main feature is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where you can feel part of the action. You can join the Millenium Falcon crew on the Smuggler’s Run, a smuggling assignment that becomes an opportunity to interact with your favorite Star Wars characters, helping them on the mission.
Another feature that you should definitely go to is Star Wars: Rise of Resistance. This attraction will transport you to a battle just like the ones you see at the saga movies. On the feature, you can join the Resistance in the battle against the First Order, helping the army or warriors to win the fight – a true gift for sci-fi fans.
