The “worst” Hollywood Chris? Pratt opens up about all the gossip

Hollywood gossip has placed Chris Pratt in the position as being the worst Chris in Tinsel Town. If you’re wondering why Pratt has been cancelled by the Internet, then it comes down to the face that he’s a member of the Hillsong Church. Hillsong has a horrible track record toward the LGBTQ+ community. By horrible? It’s really, truly icky and homophobic. 

Hillsong Church has a history of anti-LGBTQ+ practices. This includes things like conversion therapy and banning gay people from leadership positions within the church. Pratt’s continued involvement with Hillsong has, naturally, rubbed many people the wrong. Pratt has also come out in defense of Hillsong when people such as Elliot Page have made accusations of it being anti-LGBTQ+ against it. 

Needless to say, Chris Pratt’s popularity took a nosedive so sharp that you would think that it was a roller coaster with a straight 90-degree angle. While the branch of Hillsong that Pratt attends, Zoe Church, has not openly agreed with Hillsong’s practices. It’s pastor did release a video that equated homosexuality as “sexual brokenness” so, you know, the rhetoric is there. 

Pratt has remained fairly quiet on things since the Internet decided to cancel him. For many, watching his old projects from Parks & Recreation to Guardians of the Galaxy is definitely uncomfortable with the knowledge of how he continues to attend an anti-LGBTQ+ church in the back of their minds. Still, Pratt has finally broken his silence on the Hollywood gossip of being the worst Chris out there.

Taking to his Instagram, Pratt acknowledged everything that the Internet was saying about him when discussing AGBO Superhero Fantasy Football League, a star-studded fantasy league for charity. Both Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth are also in it. If you’re expecting a deep introspective moment from Pratt, then yeah the answer will disappoint you.

Pratt said in a series of Instagram stories, “I made it into the finals! I’m in the finals! I was picked last. It was very traumatic. Anyone who’s been picked last knows how that feels. I snuck two very, very close victories off, the most recent one being Chris Evans. He beat Chris Hemsworth last week.”

He continued, “So I guess we finally put an end to that debate…Who’s the better Chris? It’s one of them. I do have them in body fat content though, so I am more buoyant. Take that, gang.”  Let’s not forget Chris Pine, who is smart enough to stay away from this Hollywood gossip drama and not touch anything with a twelve-foot-pole. 

That was pretty much everything Pratt had to say on the matter. Hillsong and Zoe were not mentioned at all. In the past, people have brought up his association with the Church and the troubling implications from it. In defending his association with Hillsong in the past, Pratt said, “It is what I have seen them do for others on countless occasions regardless of sexual orientation, race or gender.” 

He also cited that they helped him through his divorce from Anna Faris as well. Either way, Hillsong’s track record with anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and Pratt’s refusal to enter the conversation in a meaningful way leaves people with a bad taste in their mouths overall. That’s why all the gossip points to him as the worst Chris in Hollywood. 

Now the only elephant left to address is the news that dropped after Chris Pratt was given the title of last place Chris by the internet. Marvel revealed that the character of Star Lord, who Pratt plays in the movies, is bisexual. Meaning that he’s a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Pratt has not said anything on that front and the Internet is deeply curious.
