11.22.63
Based on the Stephen King novel, 11.22.63 is an American sci-fi thriller consisting of eight episodes. The miniseries is about an English teacher who has a chance to time travel to the past in hopes of preventing the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
Starring James Franco as the main lead, all eight episodes of 11.22.63 are available to watch on Hulu.
Pen15
Pen15 is a Hulu original TV series that premiered two years ago. The American cringe comedy features comedians Maya Erskine & Anna Konkle playing teen versions of themselves. The comedic duo goes to school as their adult selves surrounded by actual teenagers, so needless to say, hilarity ensues.
Pen15 finished two seasons successfully, a third one unconfirmed so far. If you’re looking for some 90s-2000s teenage nostalgia, this show is for you!
Difficult People
Another Hulu original that will tickle your funny bone, Difficult People is an American dark comedy about two pessimistic best friends who live together in New York while keeping it real & hating the world.
Starring Julie Klaussner & Billy Eichner, Difficult People consists of three hilariously wholesome seasons. Rated a groundbreaking 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, this show is a must-watch.
Elementary
Elementary is a criminally underrated TV show; it’s an innovative take on Sherlock Holmes and his clique solving crimes in a modern-day setting. Starring Jonny Lee Miller as detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson, the detective pair cracks NYPD’s toughest criminal cases.
The contemporary crime drama of Sherlock Holmes has seven seasons in total, aired for the last time in 2019. Elementary has got it all; comedy, crime, drama, suspense and even romance.
Pitch
Recently available to stream on Hulu, Pitch is a sports drama about the first woman baseball pitcher and her journey to make it to the major leagues. Starring Kylie Bunbury as the female lead, the ten-episode “game changer” immerses you in its inspiring storyline and exciting gameplays.
Shrill
Based on the book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman by Lindy West, Shrill is a Hulu original in the likes of TV shows such as Girls & Sex and the City.
Shrill is an unapologetic tale about a woman who is determined to change her life without changing her body. Entailing two seasons, the show tackles serious topics like body positivity in a light manner that’s both enlightening and enjoyable to the viewers.
High Fidelity
High Fidelity is a romcom TV series based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Nick Hornby. The Hulu original premiered early last year with season 1, starring Zoë Kravitz as the main protagonist. Unfortunately, High Fidelity was cancelled by Hulu before a second season was filmed.
High Fidelity is about “a record store owner who revisits past relationships through music and pop culture while trying to get over her one true love”. Get ready to Shazam all the brilliant musical numbers in this show because it is filled with absolute jams.
