All the lucky ladies who dated BTS before their 2013 debut
Ever since their 2013 debut, the members of BTS have kept quiet about their love lives. In that they don’t seem to have them. While there are rumors (oh boy, there are rumors) about relationships with other K-pop stars or models or, well, you get the picture; none of them have ever been confirmed. Honestly, this is something that makes sense, at least, on a business and personal level.
Sometimes, stans can get a little terrifying and cross a line by threatening the girlfriends/boyfriends/etc. of the person that they stan, which is not cool. Even if a member of BTS is in a relationship, they would probably want to keep it quiet. From a business perspective, it just makes the fantasy easier to sell. Sure, you have a several billion shot in dating a BTS member, but well it’s there.
A relationship would ruin the fantasy, you know? Given the rigorous schedules of those in K-pop, they barely have time to see their families, let alone keep a healthy relationship going. But is there a relationship in their past before the group made their BTS debut? Here’s what the internet says.
Rapper for BTS, RM, is the only one who has confirmed a relationship on any level. He had a girlfriend back in high school. In an episode of Problematic Men, he talked about the relationship with the unnamed girlfriend. Honestly? It doesn’t sound like a very healthy one as she would constantly make him doubt himself. They did, eventually, break up.
RM said, “It’s just that she had a lot of guy friends and always made me doubt.” He denied that it was jealousy. Either way, it sounds like a sucky relationship to be in. Though, clearly, he’s doing better and has gotten over it. Still, that’s the only example of a confirmed relationship within BTS that we have right now.
Apparently, the rappers in BTS have all the luck. In middle school, Suga submitted a letter about love to a local radio host. He talked about a crush that he had on a fellow classmate, which is pretty adorable. He eventually confessed to her and she agreed to date him. But it didn’t last long, according to him, apparently things got incredibly awkward for the pair.
Yeah, that sounds about right for middle school.
J-Hope picked the song “Solo” by Dynamic Duo on an episode of Rookie King. He said that it reminded him of his high school girlfriend. Apparently, the song played after she left the poor guy for another man. And now we all collectively give J-Hope a mental hug because that scenario always sucks.
That’s the only relationship he confirmed about having though. Since then things have been all quiet on the dating front.
V has won over the ARMY with his unique smile and cool style. But he was apparently something of a serial dater before BTS’s debut. In an interview, he said that he had a lot of girlfriends, but they never lasted long. “I’ve have [sic] never been in a serious relationship. Actually, I couldn’t refuse a confession. I think that’s the reason why I have never been in a relationship for more than 20 days.”
Well, at least he’s up front about it.
What about Jimin and Jungkook?
The most Jimin has ever admitted to was a one-sided crush when he was younger. While he’s been romantically linked to other K-pop stars, nothing ever came to fruition based on those claims. Jungkook had a couple of rumored girlfriends prior to his BTS debut. There’s a picture that people claimed to show Jungkook kissing his classmate Park Se-won, but nothing has ever been confirmed on that front either.
