BTS ARMY goes wild for Jin’s ‘BE’ concept photos: The best reactions

Kim Seok-jin probably lights up every room that he walks into. You know him better as Jin from the wildly successful & popular Korean boyband BTS. In September, Big Hit Entertainment – the record label behind the band – announced that the new BTS album BE will come out on November 20. This came on the heels of the release of the band’s first English-language single “Dynamite”.

The music video for “Dynamite” crossed 100 million views within the first 24 hours of its release. It also surpassed Taylor Swift when the song registered 7.778 million streams on its debut day, as compared to Swift‘s previous record of 7.7742 million streams for “Cardigan”. “Dynamite” debuted at number 1 on the music streaming giant’s daily Global Top 50 chart, making it the biggest Spotify debut of 2020.

Dynamite has set so many records in just a few months that expectations from BE are soaring. So far the BTS ARMY has been treated to the concept photos for the album, and the photos haven’t disappointed.

BE hopeful

The concept shots for the album started rolling a couple of weeks ago, and excitement is at an all-time high. The band has revealed details about their lead single on the album called “Life Goes On”, which fits in perfectly with the overall message of the album: “even in the face of this new normality, our life goes on.”

The band has talked about how the songs in their latest album are reflections & thoughts of their own emotional turmoil, ups & downs, and experiences of going through the phase of the pandemic. We can count on BTS to infuse the bleak period of a literal pandemic with thoughtfulness, compassion, and cheer. 

Concept photos

BTS singer Jin has become the latest member to release concept photos in the lead up to the band’s anticipated album BE‘s release. In the photos, Jin looks absolutely ethereal, very much in line with the positive person he is.

The decor looks heavenly – the perfect escape, if you ask us – and Jin sits in the middle, shining like a gem. Talking about his outfit, he shared how he wanted to marry comfort with sparkle, “I chose silk pants that go perfectly with all the sparkle, a nightgown, and slippers to make myself absolutely comfortable in a room full of precious stones. Don’t I look completely at home?”

Social media reactions

Fans have reciprocated with equal excitement on social media.

One fan tweeted, “can’t stop thinking about diamond collector seokjin and fairy yoongi living inside diamonds.” We can’t stop thinking about it either, they do remind us of the nursery rhyme phrase, “like a diamond in the sky.”

It only confirms what we all believe: Jin is the light of our lives, the shining star, the human form of the sparkle emoji. 

Coming back to his concept photo, one member of the BTS ARMY made a creative observation that the sofa is shaped like a shell – it has all the folds – and that makes Jin a pearl. No one’s going to disagree with that.
