Will Yella Beezy lose his net worth after sexual assault charges?
Celebrity legal troubles always make it to the front pages of magazines, websites, and social media accounts. Rivaled only by developments in their relationship status, these subjects routinely scratch our itch to see how the other half lives. While the latter allows us to see the big weddings that fulfill our own grandiose dreams, the legal troubles remind us that the grass isn’t always greener for the elite.
Some celebrities tend to find the limelight through legal troubles more than others. Lindsay Lohan & Courtney Love have the distinction of being the most arrested female celebrities with ten apiece, and rappers DMX & Suge Knight both amassed twenty-four & fifteen, respectively. Following their footsteps is rapper Yella Beezy, who picked up his third arrest this year on Friday, possibly endangering his net worth.
Markies Deandre Conway, better known by Yella Beezy, is an American rapper from Dallas, Texas. He’s best known for the singles “That’s On Me”, “Back at It Again”, “Up One”, and “Goin Through Some Thangs.” Conway began writing song lyrics and rapping at the age of 13. He was inspired by artists such as Boosie Badazz & Kevin Gates.
Conway’s first hit single came in 2015 with “Trap in Designer” off of his mixtape Broke Nights Rich Days. In 2017, Yella Beezy released his mixtape Lite Work, Vol. 2. It featured the song “That’s On Me”, which peaked at number 56 on the Billboard Hot 100 and led to Yella Beezy getting signed by Chris Turner (A&R) to L.A. Reid’s label Hitco.
In 2018, the mixtape Ain’t No Goin Back was released. It included the hits “What I Did” (featuring Kevin Gates), “Up One” (featuring Lil Baby), and a remixed version of “That’s On Me” (featuring 2 Chainz, T.I., and Boosie Badazz). That same year, Yella Beezy began earning fame opening for Jay-Z & Beyoncé in Dallas & Houston during the On the Run II Tour.
In 2019, the mixtape Baccend Beezy was the first mixtape by Yella Beezy that was released under his label Hitco. The mixtape featured the hit singles “Back At It Again” (featuring Quavo & Gucci Mane) and “Restroom Occupied” (featuring Chris Brown). He was featured on Eritrean model Rubi Rose’s single “Hit Yo Dance” featuring NLE Choppa.
In February, he was arrested for a misdemeanor charge of unlawful carrying a weapon in Dallas after police performed a traffic stop and found five firearms in his SUV, according to the Dallas Morning News.
It’s been reported that this case is still pending. Authorities have announced that he was also arrested in August on a drug & weapons charge, though it’s not clear if that case is still active.
Yella Beezy was arrested in Texas on Thursday, just one day before announcing he signed with Asylum Records. He’s been charged with child endangerment and unlawful carrying of a weapon, as well as an outstanding warrant for sexual assault, the Plano Police Department said in a statement to PEOPLE on Friday.
He was held at the Collin County Detention Center under a $50,000 bond amount for the sexual assault charge, police said. Jail records show that 30-year-old Beezy has already been released. Further details about the allegations against Beezy were not immediately made public.

In 2018, Beezy was shot multiple times while inside a car driving on the Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville, CBS Dallas previously reported. Police told the news station that more than a dozen shots were fired, and Beezy was hospitalized for his injuries. While this incident didn’t hold him back from being profitable, it’s unclear if his net worth will overcome the repeated turmoil of 2021.
