Snapchat and HBO Max are collaborating? That's amazing for us users of the social media app! It may not offer HBO Max movies, but that's fine by us.

Want to watch HBO Max movies on Snapchat? How you can unlock this feature

Snapchat will soon be able to bring full-length episode series to its social media platform, thanks to a recent partnership with the hit streaming service HBO Max. With HBO Max Minis, Snapchatters will be able to stream the pilots of TV series with up to sixty-three other users. How cool is that? Wait, don’t answer . . . we already know how you feel. But what about HBO Max movies? Too good to be true.

The feature was announced today and is offered through Minis, which debuted late last year and hosts third-party app experiences within Snapchat. Minis allow users to do anything from meditating with Headspace to buy film tickets with friends through Atom. Who knows? Perhaps this will soon unlock HBO Max movies? We certainly hope so.

Also, HBO Max Minis will allow anyone on Snapchat to view entire episodes of more than a dozen series from the streaming service for free, including pilots from Lovecraft Country and Game of Thrones. With synchronized playback, everyone watching the show will be able to stream the same pilot together. Is this something you might be interested in taking part in? What is HBO Max?

Having first launched on May 27th, 2020, HBO Max joined a slate of impressive streaming services, squaring off against strong opponents such as Netflix, Hulu, and Disney Plus. A property of WarnerMedia Entertainment, HBO Max features a stacked library of content that includes the likes of Game of Thrones, Friends, Westworld, The OC, His Dark Materials, Big Little Lies, Chernobyl, True Detective, and South Park.

By landing a subscription to HBO Max you’ll be invited to experience a wide range of content including HBO premium programming, third-party titles, WarnerMedia’s impressive library, as well as original content made specifically for the trending streaming service, such as the highly recommended The Flight Attendant

If you already have access to HBO through either a cable or satellite provider, then you should have access to HBO Max and all of its amazing content. Certain providers currently offering this streaming service are the following: Xfinity, Wow!, Verizon Fios, Optimum, RCN, Spectrum, Suddenlink, Altice One, Cox, DirectTV, AT&T U-verse, Atlantic Broadband, and Apple TV Channels.

Snapchat find its way to HBO Max

Snapchat users will be able to access different HBO Max episodes through search or by clicking the rocket icon from chat. So, once HBO Max Mini is launched, users will then be required to verify their birthday, which will filter which episodes are streamable. The full list of episodes available to stream on an age-restricted basis includes Titans, Warrior, Selena + Chef, Betty, The Flight Attendant, Love Life, as well as others.

“People love to come together to watch their favorite HBO Max shows and talk about what’s unfolding,’” said Sarah Lyons, EVP of DTC global product management at HBO Max. “Our partnership with Snapchat is another step towards fulfilling that desire for human connection and providing our fans with co-viewing opportunities while deepening their emotional relationship with the brand.”

Up to sixty-four users can join an HBO Max Mini session through a shared in-chat link or by clicking a shared sticker, and users will be able to talk and send their reactions while streaming a show, and while you can check it out even without an HBO Max subscription, users who are eighteen years old and older will be asked to subscribe to HBO Max to continue streaming a series once the pilot episode is completed.
