Does J. Law know something we don’t about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez?
The early 2000s is certainly making a comeback as far as fashion goes, but what about celebrity couples? After actress & singer Jennifer Lopez called it quits with her fiance, New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, she was spotted with an old flame: her Y2K boo Ben Affleck.
Anyone who was alive circa 2002 remembers Bennifer. And while we hope they’re never doing anything like their trainwreck movie Gigli again, we have to wonder if this throwback item is back on. Plus, we’re not the only ones excited about Ben Affleck’s possible reunion with Jenny from the Block. J Law’s all ecstatic about J Lo and her possible reinstatement of Bennifer.

Big announcement
Jennifer Lawrence broke the news when she appeared on the podcast The B*tch Bible, hosted by Jackie Schimmel. Schimmel frequently brings on celebrities to spill the latest tea in Hollywood. Most recently, she took a “girls’ trip” with actresses Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner, and Heather McMahan.
But the bit of hot gossip on our screens was when J Law had some delicious, succulent tea about who she saw vacationing in Montana: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.
We also don’t need to imagine how excited the Hunger Games star was when she gushed about Lopez reconciling with Ben Affleck. “Breaking f***ing news,” she gushed. “Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are back together, they are on vacation with each other right now.” She had to repeat that last sentence twice because the hosts burst out in a rousing round of “NOOOOO!!!!!”
While Jennifer Lawrence said she got her info from a reputable news source, Jackie Schimmel’s rumor mill senses were tingling, so they dove further in. Indeed, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were in Montana “connecting with nature” – but then the “wait a minute” cries came pouring in, because guess who else was a guest on that particular podcast episode?
The other Bennifer
Jennifer Garner, who was married to Ben Affleck after Bennifer split in 2004. Garner & Affleck started dating in 2004, got married in 2005, and split in 2018 after having three kids. Affleck even thanked his wife when he won a Golden Globe for Argo for best director in 2013, saying “I adore you, I love you. You’re my everything.”
The couple first announced the divorce shortly after news broke that Ben Affleck had taken his & Garner’s twenty-eight-year-old nanny to a charity poker event. While both Affleck & Garner denied the nanny had anything to do with the split (and denied allegations of infidelity), reports kept pouring in that the couple was on the rocks. They announced their divorce in 2017 and finalized it in 2018.
“‘What am I going to do about that?’ He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy.” Garner said about Ben Affleck in an interview with Vanity Fair.
How does she feel about Bennifer?
After a small laugh, Jennifer Garner said she was “so excited” and “so happy for them”. However, thanks to how hot Bennifer news is, it’s taken a toll on Ben Affleck and his family.
Mercury News reported that on May 1st, Affleck was out with his son Samuel when the paps began photographing him and asking about whether he and Jennifer Lopez were back together. Affleck reportedly answered the intruding reporter with a lemonade thrown in his direction.
Jennifer Garner has also reported to The Hollywood Reporter that Bennifer news “put so much anxiety in our little family” as the paps are swarming more than ever. Apart from concerns about the press around her kids more, Garner isn’t fazed by the return of Bennifer. A source told Elle: “Jen isn’t bothered by Ben hanging out with J.Lo or anyone else. She wants what is best for Ben.”
