Here’s the proof Kim Kardashian didn’t get invited to this Met Gala

Kim Kardashian has become a fixture at the Met Gala, known for her bold fashion choices and iconic red carpet moments. She is expected to attend the 2023 event, which will honor Karl Lagerfeld, and many are eagerly anticipating her latest outfit.

But will this year be the one in which she is not invited? There are already rumors swirling that the gala has pulled the plug on the superstar and the internet is clamoring to know why.

But are all of these rumors with any merit? Let’s take a look at the hints.

Storied history

Kim Kardashian has been a regular attendee of the Met Gala, a high-profile fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City, for several years. Her first appearance was in 2013 when she was pregnant with her first child, North West.

Over the years, she has become known for her eye-catching and often controversial outfits on the red carpet, with her bodycon dresses being particularly notable. In recent years, her mother and sisters have also participated, making the event a family affair.

In 2021, she arrived at the event in a full-face, masked Balenciaga outfit that sparked conversation and speculation about her identity. She also defended the outfit against criticism, arguing that it was “very American”.

In 2022, Kim made headlines for her Marilyn Monroe-inspired look, which included a custom-made gown, gloves, and a wig. Ahead of the 2023 Met Gala, which will take place on May 1 and honor the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, there was initially speculation that Kim may not be invited. However, it has since been confirmed that she will attend the event. She even visited Lagerfeld’s office in Paris for inspiration for her outfit.

Beyond her personal appearances, Kim has also been involved in the Met Gala in other ways. In 2019, she served as a co-chair of the event alongside Anna Wintour, Lady Gaga, and Harry Styles. She has also shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of her preparations for the event on social media, including fittings and beauty treatments.

Storied gala

The 2023 Met Gala is set to take place on Monday, May 1st in New York City. The theme for this year’s event is “In Honor of Karl,” which will celebrate the work of the late Karl Lagerfeld throughout his lifetime. The Costume Institute exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” will have over 150 pieces, including many sketches by Lagerfeld on display.

The hosts for the event include La La Anthony, Derek Blasberg, Chloe Fineman, and Emma Chamberlain [6]. The event is a fundraiser, and each of the approximately 400 invited guests must purchase a ticket for $50,000, with tables costing at least $300,000 each. The event is traditionally held on the first Monday in May, but due to the pandemic, it was postponed to September 2021.

High anticipation

Members of the Kardashian-Jenner family have been a mainstay at the Met Gala for the last 10 years. So while it’s hard to tell if she will or will not be invited to this year’s Met Gala. However it’s an unlikely scenario when she is one of the world’s most popular people not just online but also in real life. With Kim Kardashian’s continued involvement, the event is sure to remain a topic of discussion and anticipation for years to come.
