Haute couture: Get on top of high fashion with these rising names

The world of high fashion is so interesting to keep up with because it’s constantly changing. High fashion is all about what looks tasteful, artistic, and absolutely gorgeous. Nowadays, most high fashion apparel can be considered edgier since it pushes the boundaries while other high fashion designs are more modest & relaxed.

Plenty of famous models who walk in runways today have taken a liking to particular designers who have been established for many years. It’s time to pay attention to the newest fashion designers on the rise who will soon be working with the likes of Bella Hadid, Adriana Lima, and Karlie Kloss – if they haven’t already.

Chopova Lowena

Emma Chopova & Laura Lowena are a high fashion duo who spent most of the worldwide pandemic in lockdown at their London studio sewing beautiful clothing and coming up with brilliant designs.

Although one is American and the other is British, London seems to be the ideal place for them to work together to get their fantastic ideas flowing. One thing they care about the most is sustainability in their work. Adding a modern spin to classic styles is what they do best.

Kenneth Ize

Kenneth Ize takes on an Artisanal approach with his high fashion designing choices. He’s got a modern eye that’s so keen for detail which means his work stands out in comparison to others. Ize is great with incorporating traditional Nigerian fabrics into his clothing collection which is something a lot of other designers don’t do. The color patterns of his fashion line tend to remain in the same family of tribal colors.

According to Ize’s Instagram, Timothée Chalamet has already modeled his clothing. Having someone like Chalamet modeling your clothing means you’re already making big waves in the fashion industry. Ize is truly off to a good start with establishing himself in such a business.

Sindiso Khumalo

Sindiso Khumalo graduated from Central Saint Martins with a degree in architecture, proving she’s great when it comes to paying attention to detail. Designing architecture in comparison to designing clothing is very different, but many of the elements are similar.

Khumalo draws inspiration from her heritage to produce clothing at such a high caliber. Her high fashion line is perfect for the summertime because wearing her designs on the beach would make for the perfect photo opportunity.

Peter Do

In 2018, Peter Do decided to launch his brand, and things have been working for him since then. Everything about his high fashion designs reminds the buyer of complete simplicity. There’s nothing over the top or crazy about Do’s clothing line since keeping things on a minimalistic level is his goal. He certainly achieved his goal with his innovative ideas.

Thebe Magugu

Thebe Magugu won the LVMH Prize which is huge in the world of high fashion. For a little more perspective, he’s actually the first-ever African designer to take home such a wildly celebrated award. It’s obvious that his designs have been quite groundbreaking with an emphasis on celebrating the female body as part of his main source of inspiration.

Harris Reed

Harris Reed’s a high fashion designer who’s already worked with some major names in the game. While still enrolled as a student at Central Saint Martin’s, Alexandria Michelle from Gucci saw Reed’s work and was highly impressed. Solange Knowles & Harry Styles have also been quite impressed by the inclusive beauty of Reed’s designs. This is one fashion designer to keep an eye on for sure.

Cecilie Bahnsen

Cecilie Bahnsen studied her craft at the Danish school of design and also picked up a lot of knowledge while working as a design assistant at Adam. On top of all that, she also freelances with Christian Dior, one of the biggest names in high fashion. In 2016, she released a spring & summer collection that was absolutely stunning. She has continued to make waves in the fashion industry since her debut.
