Who is Marilyn Manson?
Who is Marilyn Manson? Well, let’s start from the beginning. Marilyn Manson was born Brian Hugh Warner on January 5th, 1969. He grew up in Canton, Ohio where he experienced a traumatic childhood. He was also bullied in school because children thought he was gay and had strained relationships with his parents.
According to Biography, “Manson was molested several times by a neighbor. The trauma put the young boy on a path of rebellion as he tried to reconcile the incidents with his daily life.”
Marilyn’s mother suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy which is an illness where a caretaker fabricates a child’s illness. His mother had him in and out of the hospital. He developed a resentful relationship with his mother during his teenage years which lasted until adulthood.
Marilyn Manson explains, “I was kind of a mama’s boy. But I had a weird relationship with my mom as a kid because it was kind of [harmful] – but on my part. I wish I could go back and change the way I treated my mom because I used to be really rude to her, and she didn’t really have any kind of control over me.”
Becoming Marilyn Manson
Brian became a music journalist in his early adulthood and interviewed bands like Nine Inch Nails. He eventually made his own band called Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids. Biography states, “that he got the name for his alter ego by combining Marilyn Monroe’s first name with Charles Manson’s last. Later, the band would change the name simply to Marilyn Manson.”
Manson used a lot of his dark past & traumatic memories in his music. He also had been very transparent in interviews about recurring fantasies of killing ex-lovers, which also debuted in his songs.
Who is Marilyn Manson? His ex-partners describe being lured in by his intelligence and calm demeanor, not necessarily his dark image. Yet there was much of Marilyn’s darkness to discover. Marilyn Manson – a person who was once a victim, has turned into a horrific abuser for many.
Evan Rachel Wood
Manson is currently facing four sexual assault lawsuits along with numerous personal testimonies about sexual & psychological abuse. Some of the women who have spoken out are Evan Rachel Wood, Esme Bianco & Ashley Walter – just to name a few.
According to Billboard Magazine, on February 1st, 2021, Wood took to Instagram to share a statement, “The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson.”
She continued to write, “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander or blackmail.”
Esme Bianco
Actress Esme Bianco came forward about her many years of frightening abuse spent with Manson. In an interview with Billboard Magazine Bianco said, “Manson assaulted her without consent in a music video shoot and during sex, rigidly set rules for her life and once chased her with an ax.”
Bianco said the musician controlled every aspect of her life right down to what she wore and who she spoke to. She felt like a prisoner, often having to call her family from the closet so Manson wouldn’t hear her. She filed a lawsuit against Manson and his manager for violating the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act along with several other crimes.
Ashley Morgan
Ashley Morgan has a similar story to the previous women. She told People Magazine “I survived a monster,” She described Marilyn Manson cutting her with a swastika knife, locking her in a soundproof glass room that Manson called “the bad girls’ room” and forcing her to make a blood pact.
Who is Marilyn Manson? Many women have described Marilyn Manson as domineering, entitled, manipulative, sexually, and psychologically abusive. He seems to have taken out his life-long angst & trauma on the young women he preyed upon.

Loma Vista Recording Labels refused to work with him after fifteen women came out with allegations stemming back to the early 90s. Marilyn Manson says all the accusations are false, claiming he’s a magnet for controversy.
He went to his own Instagram to say that all the women’s claims are distorted of the nature of their relationships. He wrote, “My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to misinterpret the past, that is the truth.”
