Lucas bang or Disney whimper? The ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ teaser

Put aside your Disney fatigue and relive the Lucasfilm magic with this teaser for the closer of the nine-part, 42-year space opera saga. We’ve been amazed to see how J.J. Abrams was able to summon the vibe and energy of the original two films (episodes 4 and 5 of the storyline) with episodes 7 and 8, while being frustrated and disappointed at the lack of new story invention.

The new installment is likely to evoke the same complex mixture of regret and excitement, but at least Disney has confirmed it’s slowing down on producing more films in the Star Wars universe after its lackluster money-grabbing spinoffs predictably fell flat.
