The PCA nominations dropped today. As of now, we’ve got a mere five days left to nominate our fandom faves. That means we’ve got five working days (including today) to let people know that Shadowhunters has and always will have one of the most persuasive fandoms in TV land. Read on for our tips on how to organize your voting.
We’ve already spoken at length about how a TCA win could help us #SaveShadowhunters. Now, as part of our #FreeShadowhunters mission, we’re chiming in on how a People’s Choice Award can also raise awareness of our show.
If you’ve been living under a rock since 1975 you might not know about The E! People’s Choice Awards. If that’s the case, The PCAs are meant to recognize the people the fandom loves in entertainment. The awards are voted by the people and the nominations are decided by the public.
Why should you care? Well if you’re even remotely interested in the #SaveShadowhunters campaign, you’ll want to let your fingers do the voting and nominate your faves today. Here’s our handy guide to making your nominations count.
By giving decision-makers metrics and a view into how dedicated this fandom is, we can show them how valuable a product Shadowhunters is, and how much money they’d stand to make by purchasing it.

When can I nominate Shadowhunters?
Voting for nominations opened today, Monday, August 12th and closes on Friday, August 16th.
Voting proper starts on September 4th. Nominate your fandom faves here.
How can I vote for Shadowhunters?
- Online: The quickest and easiest way is to vote here. This is the only method available for the nominations. (August 12th – 16th)
- Facebook: Fans can post either publicly or privately and include: one category hashtag, one corresponding nominee hashtag, and “#PCAs”.
- Twitter: Fans can send a public tweet or retweet and include one category hashtag, one corresponding nominee hashtag, and “#PCAs”.
- For anyone living back in 1999, you can also submit a snail mail write-in vote! More info can be seen on that, here if you’re that type of awesome luddite.
When will I know if Shadowhunters made the cut?
The nominees will be announced on Wednesday, Sept. 4th when the official voting will kick off, as we announce the top eight nominees for all 43 categories.
When can I watch my Shadowhunters faves scoop their award?
Don’t forget to tune into the PCAs on Sunday, Nov. 10th on E!.

Who exactly should should I vote for?
Here at Film Daily we’re big fans of each member of our fandom having his/her/their own free will. We also believe in unity for all ships. However, we do think a little bit of organization will go a long, long way.
Here are our humble suggestions. You’ve got 25 votes to make each day, so you can easily spread them around your faves, your friends’ faves, and your friends’ friends’ friends’ faves.
