Crazy rumors: Is Ghislaine Maxwell now admitting she was married?
Ghislaine Maxwell news has been heating up recently as the ex-girlfriend of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein is requesting a new bail hearing just before Christmas. In the latest bombshell report, it turns out that Maxwell is married. Because 2020 couldn’t get any weirder, apparently. Here’s what we know so far.
A married woman
Ghislaine Maxwell has been attempting to get out of her Brooklyn jail on bail for a while now, and is now planning to propose a hefty $30 million bail. On top of that, her recent bail hearing reported she secretly got married.
Prosecutors claimed her failure to divulge her marriage was unethical, as he is a big part of her wealth, and would be a co-signer on her bail.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Alison Moe claimed: “In addition to failing to describe in any way the absence of proposed co-signers of a bond, the defendant also makes no mention whatsoever about the financial circumstances or assets of her spouse whose identity she declined to provide to Pretrial Services.”
Who is Ghislaine’s hubby?
Although Ghislaine Maxwell refused to reveal the identity of her husband, some reports suggest he’s Scott Borgerson, a tech CEO. Last year, The Daily Mail claimed Maxwell was living at his $3 million mansion in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.
One source close to Ghislaine Maxwell told The Daily Mail she had “become a real homebody, rarely venturing out. She’s the antithesis of the woman who traveled extensively and partied constantly with Epstein.”
Last August, however, Borgerson denied he had any romantic ties with Ghislaine Maxwell. He commented on having been met by a police escort when he arrived back in the U.S. from a trip. “It’s pretty crazy,” he said. “All of this just exploded. People keep asking me, but I am not dating Ghislaine, I’m home alone with my cat.”
Could they be friends?
Scott Borgerson also refused to comment on the current standing of his friendship with Ghislaine Maxwell. “I don’t want to comment on that,” he said. “Would you want to talk about your friends?”
He continued: “I landed after a long flight and my phone went crazy, the first thing I did was call the local police to check my house.” He added: “She’s not here, I have no idea where she is.”
Borgerson stated that these allegations have disrupted his life. “Nobody wants to be close to this radioactive situation,” he said. “I’m just an ocean policy person, I was serving my country in the military and then I’ve been busy working hard – I’m an ethical person with a good reputation and integrity.”
The status of Ghislaine Maxwell’s case
Ghislaine Maxwell is scheduled for a court date in the near future, in the hopes to be free to go home for the holidays. $25 million of the bond will be supplied by Maxwell’s husband. The remaining $5 million will be provided by her brothers, Kevin & Ian Maxwell. ABC News reported her application for bail will be the first time she admits that she is married.
Maxwell hopes to be released on house arrest, and stated she will wear a bracelet monitor if required. As for the hearing, she has requested a closed-door hearing so as to not have her husband’s identity be public knowledge.
Her defence stated the co-signers “are legitimately afraid if their identities become public, they will be subjected to the same relentless media scrutiny and threats that Ms. Maxwell has experienced for more than a year.”

As of now, legal details on Ghislaine Maxwell’s case are still pending. But, while her court date is still on hold, due to her being a flight risk, and having serious charges held against her, it seems unlikely that she’ll get to spend Christmas with her hubby.
