Waiting for more ‘TharnType: The Series’? Watch these boy love dramas
TharnType is the story of homophobic college student Type and his openly gay roommate, Tharn. As the story progresses, we find out why Type is such a homophobe and a relationship grows between the two roommates. The first season of TharnType wrapped in January, but while you wait for TharnType season 2, here are some other great boy love dramas you can check out.
Love by Chance: Freshman boy love
Thai series Love by Chance, based on the novel My Accidental Love is You, follows two college freshmen as they realize they have growing feelings for one another. Ae (Tanapon Sukumpantanasan) helps Pete (Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana) from being blackmailed by his ex-boyfriend and their friendship grows into boy love they’d never imagined.
Though Love by Chance only ran for one season, it’s a great way to bridge the gap between TharnType seasons.
SOTUS: The Series: Boy love that turns the tables on power
SOTUS: The Series is a Thai boy love drama that follows senior engineering student Arthit (Krist Perawat Sangpotirat), who is responsible for hazing new students. Arhit hazes students with impunity until one day freshman Kongpob (Singto Prachaya Ruangroj) stands up against him. A love develops between the two as their relationship transforms from one of authority to one of admiration.
2Moons: Second chance at boy love
2Moons: The Series follows Wayo Panitchayasawad (Suradet Piniwat), who goes to the same university as his long time love Phana Kongthanin (Itthipat Thanit). When Wayo is chosen to be the Moon of his faculty, he gets the opportunity to spend more time with Phana. At first Phana picks on Wayo, but that starts to change.
Why R U?: Unlikely boy love
Mismatched pair Tutor (Saint Suppapong Udomkaewkanjana) & Fighter (Zee Pruk Panich) are drawn together through tutoring lessons. Tutor is rational & wise beyond his age, while Fighter is emotional & passionate. Like any good romance, the two start out at each other’s throats and end up in each other’s arms.
Together With Me: Childhood boy love
Together With Me is another great boy love drama out of Thailand. Together With Me starts with Knock (Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai) waking up naked next to his childhood best friend Korn (Max Nattapol Diloknawarit) after a night of drinking. The two agree to keep it a secret, because Knock has a girlfriend. Knock’s girlfriend is exposed as evil and Knock & Korn rekindle their relationship.
Bad Romance: The Series: Boy love spinoff
Together With Me is a spinoff of another great boy love drama, Bad Romance: The Series. Bad Romance: The Series is a mixed straight and boy love romedy that follows the events that take place after Together With Me. Knock & Korn are together, but one of Korn’s female friends, Yihwa (Maengmum Pimnitchakun Bumrungkit), develops a liking for Knock.
The plot of Bad Romance: The Series thickens as Korn’s male friend Cho (Tomo Visava Thaiyanont) has fallen in love at the sight of Yihwa. Yihwa thinks Cho is gay at first, but Cho is persistent in his feeling for Yihwa and they eventually grow close.
