Did Britney Spears's father secretly spy on her while she was under her conservatorship? Look at the newest evidence.

Is Britney Spears’s father hiding a dark secret?

Parents have a never-ending job. They will do anything for their children, and just because those children become adults, the job doesn’t end or get any easier. All parents want is for their children to grow up and be functioning and happy adults. If they can accomplish all of their dreams, that is a bonus! But what if that desire to protect them takes a dark turn to the unimaginable?

Such is the alleged story between Britney Spears and her father, Jamie. In 2008, when Britney was in the midst of a very public breakdown (not much of her life wasn’t public), she seemed to need someone to step up to help her regain control of her life and monitor her mental health. Like any good parent, Jamie Spears stepped up to the plate. However, new evidence shows a darker side of his actions.

Britney Spears’ father

Spears became a public figure in 2019 with the rise of a movement to terminate his daughter’s conservatorship, dubbed #FreeBritney. This movement has garnered support from several celebrities (including Cher, Paris Hilton, and Miley Cyrus) and the American Civil Liberties Union nonprofit organization.

On April 22nd, 2019, fans protested outside the West Hollywood City Hall to demand Britney’s release from the psychiatric facility where she had been staying since Spears’s illness in January. Spears called the #FreeBritney movement a joke and collection of conspiracy theorists. He maintained that he only did what was best for his daughter.

On August 17th, 2020, Britney’s court-appointed lawyer submitted a court filing that documented her desire to have her conservatorship altered to reflect “her current lifestyle and her stated wishes”, to instate her longtime care manager, Jodi Montgomery, as her permanent conservator, and to replace Spears with “a qualified corporate fiduciary” as conservator of her estate.

On the road to victory

On June 23rd, 2021, Britney gave her testimony regarding Spears, stating that he sent her to rehab and a mental facility against her will in January 2019. She also indicated that she is afraid of him and that he has committed “conservatorship abuse.” Britney said he should not be able to walk away and go to jail for his actions.

On September 7th, 2021, Spears filed a petition to end the conservatorship over his daughter. Judge Brenda Penny suspended Spears as a conservator on September 29th, 2021. The testimony was highly damaging to Spears, as many began to question what kind of abuse Britney was referring to and how badly it had gotten.

Many also criticized the timing of Spears filing to end the conservatorship after his daughter’s testimony as “too little, too late” and an attempt to avoid the courts shining a light on what had been going on. And to avoid more questions about him siphoning off about $2 million of Britney’s money. It seemed he had gone from protector to predator in the eyes of Britney’s fans.

Listening devices

Britney Spears’ father is once again taking more actions that have caused some to question his motivations. After thirteen years, he is urging the court to end the conservatorship over his daughter. While this may seem an odd about-face, Britney’s attorney believes it is for very selfish reasons.

Mathew Rosengart has filed documents with the court demanding, “all documents and communications relating to any recording or listening device in the home or bedroom of Britney Jean Spears, including all documents and communications relating to the decision to place any such recording or listening device and the records of any such recording.”

Rosengart is also demanding “all documents and communications relating to the electronic surveillance, monitoring, cloning, or recording of the activity of Britney Jean Spears’ personal telephone, including but not limited to the surveillance, monitoring, cloning, iCloud mirroring, or recording of calls, emails, text messages, internet browser use or history, and social media use or direct messages on social media.”

Britney Spears father’s response

Of course, Spears’ attorney issued a response that summed up his legal team’s feelings on the conservatorship, stating, “As far as Jamie is concerned, the conservatorship is done and can be terminated immediately . . . So it is said in no uncertain terms that my client has no interest in continuing the conservatorship, and I will join in any effort to terminate immediately.”

Britney’s attorney had no shortage of words for the timing of this about-face, responding with, “It is of no moment, presently, whether Mr. Spears’s reversal was motivated by a desire to bolster his reputation or to avoid his deposition or responding to the outstanding discovery served on him in August.”

Is Britney Spears’ father an abuser? Or is he merely a concerned parent that knows his daughter more than the public? What are your feelings on the conservatorship and the process that has taken place over almost a decade and a half?
