Are Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani the worst celebrity couple ever?

After a stressful few months quarantined in Blake Shelton’s Oklahoma ranch, Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton finally moved into their new Los Angeles, California home. Sources for Us Weekly Magazine claimed that the couple felt suffocated, and “they’re stretched to the limit.” 

Moving is a stressful time in general, especially out of state; we couldn’t imagine the added stress of moving during a global pandemic. Add juggling Stefani’s three young boys and their canceled wedding plans to make 2020 a nightmarish year.

Shelton & Stefani have been called one of the worst celebrity couples. The couple earned the title after rumors swelled that they were only dating to promote their singing competition show, The Voice. 

Shelton & Stefani first met when they were both coaches on season 7 of The Voice. They were also both going through divorces at the time and found comfort in each other. Their connection grew out of each other’s sorrows, became a support network, and finally a relationship.  

Before they started dating, they didn’t really know each other. Stefani told Seth Meyers she didn’t even know he existed before they met on The Voice. She explained to Howard Stern on his show, “I wasn’t trying to start a relationship. There was no plan. It was an incredible gift to be able to have a friend.”

The rumors of a publicity relationship look to be unfounded – even former The Voice coach Adam Levine recognizes the couple’s love. Levine told Stern the couple is “so in love it’s disgusting.” 

One of the best parts of their relationship has been their incredible duets. They gave amazing performances of “Baby Go and Break my Heart” at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards and “You Make it Feel Like Christmas” in 2017. During the show, the pair don’t even look at the audience because they can’t take their eyes off of each other. Shelton’s new song, “Happy Anywhere,” featuring Stefani, is his love letter to her.

The couple has also been great under stress. They got together during incredibly public divorces and were able to find solace in each other. A source told Us Weekly Magazine that quarantine has been the biggest test of their relationship but can work through any tension and look at the bigger picture.

Whether you find their antics incredibly cute or over-the-top, there is no doubt that Shelton & Stefani are one of the best celebrity couples right now. Their relationship is like a phoenix – it was born from the ashes of failed marriages and reborn to something great for both of them.
