Elisabeth Moss: All the celebrities you forgot were scientologists

We all know about Tom Cruise and his advocacy for the Church of Scientology as well as his ex-wife Katie Holmes’ s claims that Scientology was part of the reason she left him, taking their young daughter Suri with her. Basically whenever we see an article about Scientology, especially in the celebrity sphere, we know we’re in for a wild ride.

It’s surprising just how many celebrities are practicing Scientologists, some having been raised in the religion since they were children like actress Elisabeth Moss. We’ve also heard about celebrities leaving Scientology such as Leah Remini or Michelle Visage and their reports about the religion’s anti-drug, anti-psychiatry, and homophobic practices.

The celebrities that stick with Scientology, maintain that it’s the reason for the happiness & success in their lives. For those who may have forgotten which celebrities are currently members of the Church of Scientology, here’s a list.

Elisabeth Moss

It’s true that Elisabeth Moss is a Scientologist having grown up with the religion. Many have criticized Elisabeth Moss for her relationship with Scientology but she has been quick to defend it. After some fans drew parallels between Scientology and the practices of Gilead from The Handmaid’s Tale, Elisabeth refuted those claims.

Moss stated, “That’s actually not true at all about Scientology. Religious freedom and tolerance and understanding the truth and equal rights for every race, religion, and creed are extremely important to me.”

Giovanni Ribisi grew up in a devout Scientology family as the Ribisi’s are one of the most well-known, loyal members in the organization. Beck also grew up in a well-known Scientology family and is even married to Giovanni Ribisi’s sister Marissa. Beck & Marissa are listed as Patrons in the official magazine of the International Association of Scientologists.

  • You didn’t mention Danny Masterson, who is now on multiple rape charges. Scientology tried to silence his victims. Also, Beck recently stated he was never a Scientologist. Preppon’s PR agent stated recently that she is “not currently active”, meaning she has left. Lisa Marie Presley and her mother Precilla have both left, along woth Paul Haggis and numerous others.

  • Nice to see some good news stories about celebrities in Scientology.
I think the time about ripe for many more celebrity Scientologists to come out and state their wins and feelings about Scientology. The other side is getting too much press now.

  • Scientology is a cult. Anyone who says they have all the answers, just have to do everything their way, is a cult leader. This just proves you don’t have to be intelligent to get ahead in life, because these are grown adults that believe an alien named Xenu brought billions of people to earth and this galactic confederacy bullshit.

What self respecting grown man believes and practices what a FAILED science fiction writer from the 50’s tells them. Morons.
