Hospital Playlist
Hospital Playlist is a Korean-drama that steps on our E.R hearts. The show focuses on five best friends who have developed a family-like friendship since medical school in 1999. This doctor drama spans a full season, continually pulling our heartstrings. Season 2 is coming to Netflix in 2021.
Starring Jung-suk Jo, Yeon-Seok Yoo, Kyung-ho Jung, Dae-Myung Kim, Jeon Mi Do, these doctors teach us what the true meaning of friendship is. According to Glamour, Director Shin Won-ho’s series has been compared to Shonda Rhimes’ Grey’s Anatomy. Hopefully, there’s a Doctor McDreamy!
Something in the Rain
Ahn Pan-Seok’s 2018 Korean-drama, Something in the Rain, stars Ye-jin Son & Hae-in Jung and unpacks a tough past for a bright future. The protagonist & coffee store owner Yoon Jin Ah (Ye-jin Son) has a major problem. She’s in love with her best friend’s little brother who’s only in his early twenties.
Joon-Hee (Hai-In Jung) is no longer a little kid but now a man in Jin-Ah’s (Ye-Jin Son) eyes – a factor which complicates her friendship and her love life hugely. Throughout the sixteen episodes, we discover if this new infatuation is actually worth it in the end.
Record of Youth
Ahn-Gil Ho’s 2020 series, Record of Youth, is a romantic drama that inspires artists to write their own stories. The K-drama tackles aspiring actors, Sa Hye Jun (Bo-Gum Park) and Won Hae Hyo (Woo-Seok Byeon) who fight to make their dreams a reality. Ahn Jeong Ha also takes a risk and leaves her work behind to pursue her dream of becoming a makeup artist.
Love Alarm
Season 1 of Love Alarm was released in 2019 and, thanks to fans’ high demand, Netflix is set to release the show’s second season. Directed by Lee Na-Jeong, the series surrounds a software application known as the “Love Alarm”.
According to Glamour magazine, the magic of the application reveals a “romantic interest within a ten meter radius”. Kim Jojo (So-Hyun Kim) looks for love and luckily the “Love Alarm” is ready to help. Season 2 will reveal whether the “Love Alarm” is a blessing or a curse.
The Uncanny Counter
The 2020 Korean-drama series The Uncanny Counter has a supernatural & mysterious twist. The group of demon hunters, similar to Wizards of Waverly Place & Ghost Busters, disguise their home as a noodle restaurant to hide their true identity and protect Earth against evil spirits.
Jo Byung Kyoo, Yoo Joon Sang, Kim Se Jeon, Hye-ran Yeom, and Suk-hwan Ahn are hunters with special abilities and refer to themselves as the “Counters”.
Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol
Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol is a Korean-drama series with a hint of romance, music, and comedy. The story surrounds a pianist who comes from everything but love. Goo Ra Ra (Ara Go) finds herself lost after a car accident, winding up in a secluded town.
Goo Ra RA may have struggled through many tragedies in her past, but she looks to continue her music career one way or another. Finding herself a terrible apartment, she soon meets Sunwoo Jun (Lee Jae-wook) who helps her believe that love is not far away.
Private Lives
For those who enjoy a good, dark crime story, Private Lives explores a group of mysterious people from very different backgrounds. The sixteen-episode series, directed by Nam Jun Hyuk, focuses on a security breach threatening Korea and the country’s entire civilization.
A story about mistrust, Private Lives stars Seo Hyun & Go Kyung Pyo as they travel around the city where nothing remains hidden.
