All the first reactions from Marvel’s ‘Eternals’
Marvel’s Eternals, the 26th film in the MCU, officially hits theatres on November 5th. However, many were lucky last night to attend the film’s world premiere, which was held at Disney’s iconic El Capitan theatre in Los Angeles, California, and while the full review embargos are still up for the film until October 24th, the social media embargo for the film has been lifted, giving us the first wave of thoughts for the new MCU epic.
Of course, Marvel’s Eternals is helmed by recent Academy Award-winning director Chloe Zhao and features a stellar cast including Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie.

Chloé Zhao’s #Eternals is MESMERIZING and unlike anything we’ve seen before in the MCU. It breaks the the familiar mold and delivers an EPIC and beautifully crafted story that is GRAND, yet grounded in a love of humanity. Scale
Marvel’s Eternals certainly seems like one of the biggest movies we’ve seen in the MCU. We can’t wait!
#Eternals is a whole lot of movie.
It’s shot with a massive scope, looking visually different (and more intimate) than anything else Marvel. It has laughs, great surprises, and heart to go with the gigantic, crowded story it unpacks.
Chloé Zhao has a really unique visual stamp. pic.twitter.com/hSMtwRlabv

Visually stunning
We’re hearing that it feels much more like a Chloe Zhao movie than an MCU movie, which could be a nice change of pace from what we’re used to.
Marvel’s #Eternals is spectacularly weird & rich w/ a new MCU mythology that makes it feel separate from everything else. It’s honestly refreshing. There’s a bittersweetness to the film that you feel in its sunset shots – a definite Chloé Zhao touch. It is soulful & thoughtful pic.twitter.com/pIAFAyhJ4D

“Spectacularly weird”
It’s looking more & more like Marvel’s Eternals will be a treat for those who’ve stayed invested in the MCU for all these years.
#Eternals is one of Marvel’s most ambitious films. Epic in scope, lavishly shot, and totally unapologetic about how much lore it dumps on you.
Terrific cast, great direction, and delightfully comic book-y. Def not for everyone, but these are Jack Kirby’s space gods done right. pic.twitter.com/fsuexvcTwY

Ambitious
Can’t wait to see what these “space gods” look like.
#Eternals is a BOLD direction for Marvel as they embrace the maturity of their universe. While I did find some parts slow, the films scale is something to behold. Ensemble action sequences like you’ve never seen before.

Bold
Sold. We’re seeing this thing in IMAX, which is apparently the only way to go!
Eternals is Marvel’s version of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. A film that builds upon a cast of unknown characters and does so with great success. Chloé Zhao direction is superb. Easily one of the best looking Marvel films of all time. Insane post credits scenes too. #Eternals pic.twitter.com/TbZlqPJxGQ

“Marvel’s Justice League”
That’s quite the compliment, but only if we’re talking about the Snyder cut . . .
The #Eternals post-credits scenes got wild, loud reactions from the crowd.
They’re both really, really exciting. pic.twitter.com/1yqRz9Fy65

Post-credit scene(s)
We’re hearing some wild things about Marvel’s Eternals and its surprising post-credit scenes . . . you may want to stick around.
#Eternals is surprising, epic, beautiful yet dense. It takes some big swings, sometimes feels like a DC film (not a criticism), other times feels like no other superhero movie ever. I wish I had a glowing quick reaction to offer you but I’m left with more complex thoughts.

Marinate on it
So many of these reviewers are saying that they need a day or so to sit on the film before delving into their full reaction.
The first reactions to Chloe Zhao’s #Eternals have nearly all been positive 👏
This movie is going to be one of the best MCU movies ever 🤩 pic.twitter.com/LFtIt1Oeyx

A review synthesis
Marvel’s Eternals is simply too big a film to just look at a small number of reviews. Here’s a collection of reactions from those lucky enough to see the film!
#Eternals , which I really enjoyed for its tremendous ensemble, is objectively the sexiest movie Marvel has ever made. As in an actual sex scene (very G rated tho). Two men kissing. Richard Madden and Angelina's faces.

“Sexy”
The “sexiest” movie Marvel has ever made? . . . We’re in!
