Aunt Becky in jail: Did Lori Loughlin use her net worth to get out early?
Aunty Becky aka Lori Loughlin was released early from prison and her net worth may have had everything to do with it. The former Full House actress has had her brief moment in the jailhouse and now comes the time for the rest of the actress’s sentencing.
Lori Loughlin was sentenced to two months in prison for her role in a college admissions scandal. The scandal went very public very quickly as the former Full House actress along with her husband Mossimo Giannulli were caught trying to bribe their daughters’ way into the University of Southern California.
According to Eonline Lori Loughlin has just been released from prison after only serving less than two months. She was supposed to be released on December 27th but was released on December 28th. Lori Loughlin started her two month sentence at the Northern California facility FCI-Dublin in October.
What was Lori arrested for?
Lori Loughlin & Mossimo Giannulli pled guilty to the $500,000 college bribe but a third party was involved. According to Eonline, fashion designer William “Rick” Singer was actually the mastermind behind the scandal and is currently serving five months in prison until April 2021 alongside a paid fine of $250,000.
Through a virtual court on August 21st, the couple received separate sentences with Lori Loughlin receiving two months in prison due to her “less active role” and Mossimo Giannulli with five months in prison. Loughlin will also have two years of supervised release and 100 hours of community service with a fine of $150,000. Giannulli was sentenced to 250 hours of community service and a heavy fine of $250,000.
Lori Loughlin told the judge, “I ignored my intuition and allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass. I thought I was acting out of love for my children but in reality it only underlined and diminished my daughters’ abilities and accomplishments. More broadly and more importantly, I now understand that my decision helped exacerbate existing inequalities in society generally and the higher education system more specifically.”
Lori Loughlin expressed, “I am truly profoundly and deeply sorry. I am ready to face the consequences and make amends”. Loughlin also thanked the court for their time and accepted the court’s decision. Lori Loughlin still has her 100 hours of community service to be completed but has paid the fine of $150,000.
Daughter’s apology
Lori Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade recently vowed to “do better” when she went on the Red Table Talk with Willow Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris. Jade apologized on behalf of her family’s privileged actions and told the world that “there is no justifying or excusing what happened because what happened was wrong”.
According to Eonline, although some like Sophie Richie & Willow Smith have accepted the influencer’s apology, others believe it will be difficult for the black community to forgive Olivia Jade’s family’s actions.
Lori’s net worth
Lori Loughlin started as a child-actor in 1971 on The Smith Family and then became a model in the early 1980s. Loughlin then made her big break as the star of Full House as Aunty Becky or Rebecca Katsopolis. Full House made Loughlin a TV star since then and opened up doors into her other TV series and movies like Hudson Street, Medusa’s Child and The Price of Heaven, Seinfeld, and 90210.
Stylecaster reported that even though Lori Loughlin was removed from Netflix’s Full House reboot, Loughlin still has a lot of money behind her name. Loughlin was a producer & writer for some of her TV shows like the Garage Sale Mysteries telefilm series.
One of Lori Loughlin’s most interesting forms of income was through a sponsorship deal with an HP campaign alongside her daughter and social influencer Olivia Jade. However, after the college scandal became public the HP advertising & marketing team quickly called it quits on Lori and removed her from representing the HP brand alongside Olivia Jade.
According to Stylecaster Lori Loughlin & Mossimo Giannulli have shared real estate investments especially in their beloved Bel-Air mansion purchased in 2015 for $13.9 million. Loughlin & Giannulli put the striking house on the market in January 2020 for an increased price of $28.6 million.
Forbes reported that in 2019 Lori Loughlin’s net worth was thriving with a whopping $8 million. But thanks to Loughlin’s multiple legal fees including her husband and Mossimo Giannulli’s $1 million need for bail, her net worth is probably short a million dollars or two by the end of 2020.

Lori Loughlin might have had a quicker prison sentence than her husband Mossimo Giannulli but she will remain under a two year supervised release and is still required to do her 100 hours of community service.
