When Kim Kardashian broke COVID-19 protocols for the sake of a birthday party, we knew there'd be consequences. Find out what her TV show has confirmed!

Did Kim Kardashian’s controversial birthday trip give her COVID?

We all remember Kim Kardashian’s private island birthday bash back in October 2020 which sparked some serious backlash. Many people went to social media to express their outrage at the family’s decision to disregard all COVID-19 safety regulations. It was considered by many as reckless, tone-deaf, and privileged during a time of worldwide struggle.

Therefore, it doesn’t come as much surprise to learn that Kim Kardashian & the rest of the family had contracted COVID-19 not long after the controversial birthday trip. However, it has not been revealed if it was truly on this vacation that the family had contracted the virus. Of course, Kim has denied all claims that the birthday trip was the source of the virus.

Kim tested positive but decided to keep it a secret?

In its final season, the latest episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians revealed Kim had tested positive for COVID-19 late last year. This fact was never disclosed to fans during the time when it happened – or even hinted at later on. This comes as a major surprise to all those who watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians due to the fact that Kim has always publicly shared her health struggles.

Episode 10 detailed how Kim was preparing to retake the “baby bar,” also known as the First-Year Law Students’ Examination. This exam must be passed in order for students to continue studying law. Kim Kardashian stated she failed the baby bar in June and was unsure if studying law was meant for her.

Ultimately on KUWTK, Kim Kardashian decides to continue her studies and plans on retaking the baby bar in November. However, just weeks before her exam, Kardashian discovers that her family has tested positive for COVID-19. Due to the positive results, the show states that all filming was put on hold for fourteen days.

When exactly did Kim test positive?

In the show, Kim explains that her son, Saint, had come in contact with the virus and had tested positive. Yet, specific dates are never revealed. Buzzfeed investigated through various social media posts, matching outfits of confession room scenes from the show when Kim was likely experiencing symptoms.

The dates then claim that Kim had tested positive around November 7th. This would place her positive test for COVID-19 only ten days after her controversial birthday vacation. Therefore, it would make sense as to why the family would want to keep the positive test a secret from the public after being criticized for her birthday island trip.

When Buzzfeed contacted Kim’s publicist for the exact date of the star’s positive test, she declined to answer. Kim herself has tweeted that all accusations of her birthday leading her to contract COVID-19 are completely false. Buzzfeed continues to suggest that Kim had “tested positive very shortly after returning, and then decided against revealing her diagnosis in real time to avoid further backlash.” Which makes sense.

Of course, the show barely included any footage from the infamous birthday celebration and referenced absolutely none of the backlash which had occurred at the time. Unlike other big celebrations in her life, such as her previous weddings, there’s very little coverage of her luxurious birthday party. Hmmm, we wonder why . . .

Kim’s baby bar exam and COVID-19 symptoms

The episode ends by showing Kim tirelessly studying for the baby bar exam despite her debilitating symptoms of COVID-19. Kim states in the episode: “I’m feeling pretty sh*tty. We’re supposed to do 12-hour study sessions every day leading up to the test, but I’ve been feeling so awful with COVID that I can hardly get out of bed. I’m feeling extremely achy, I have the worst back pain, I’m so tired, I have a 104 fever.”

Kim Kardashian definitely displays an excellent work ethic by continuing her extensive studies and taking the exam all while suffering from COVID-19. Perhaps we’ll see in the next episode if she passed or not.
