Which Jeff Dahmer crime scene photo was the worst?
As one of the most infamous serial killers in history, Jeffrey Dahmer’s crimes are well-known. What is less known, however, are the gruesome details of his crimes. In this article, we will take a look at some of the worst photos of Jeffrey Dahmer’s crime scenes. Please be warned, these photos are extremely graphic and disturbing.
Who was Jeff Dahmer?
Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jeffrey was an introverted child who struggled with severe depression. He had difficulty fitting into society and as he grew older became increasingly isolated from his family and peers.
By high school he had become fascinated by dissection – sometimes taking home animals he found dead on the side of the road to preserve them. He went on to study at Ohio State University but quickly dropped out due to alcohol abuse issues brought upon by growing mental health struggles.
It wasn’t until 1978 that Dahmer committed his first murder when he killed 19-year-old Stephen Hicks while they were hitchhiking together in Ohio. After killing Hicks, Dahmer brought him back to his grandmother’s house where he proceeded to dismember him before burying his body parts in her garden. This would set off a long spree of murders spanning numerous states – all involving similar patterns & tactics.
From then onwards, Jeffrey Dahmer began experimenting with drugging & chloroforming his victims so that he could take erotic photographs or perform sexual acts on them afterward. The evidence for these depraved practices can be seen through police finding several photos taken by himself featuring his lifeless victim’s post-mortem; which has been described as “a crucial piece of evidence” during the trial. Most importantly, however, investigators believe it also serves as a unique insight into why Jeffery even committed such heinous crimes in the first place.
The media interest surrounding this case led to investigations being conducted beyond murder charges, including suspicion around whether there may have been others involved in the killings; especially when it comes down to those crime scene photos – something still up for debate today.
Jeffrey Dahmer died an ignoble death at Columbia Correctional Institution (CCI) – one year into serving 15 consecutive life sentences – after being attacked by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver who claims he heard voices directing him to do so. Regardless, what remains is both an eerie reminder of human potential for evil & reminder of how incredibly fragile life really is.
The first photo is of one of Dahmer’s victims, Lionel Tate. Tate was just 14 years old when he was brutally murdered by Dahmer. The photo shows Tate’s mutilated body, with his head almost completely decapitated. His eyes have been gouged out, and his mouth has been savagely torn open. It is a truly horrific sight.
Another victim was Paul Jurzska, who was only 19 years old when he met Dahmer. Jurzska’s body was found in a 55-gallon drum in Dahmer’s apartment. The photo shows Jurzska’s decomposing body, with maggots crawling all over it. His eyes have been gouged out, and his face has been savagely mutilated. It is a truly nightmarish sight.
The last photo is of Steven Hicks, who was only 18 years old when he was killed by Dahmer. Hicks’ body was found in a shallow grave near Dahmer’s apartment. The photo shows Hicks’ skeletal remains, with his skull cracked open and his brain missing. It is a truly harrowing sight.
