Jane Fonda’s career is a dizzying blend of inspiring, trailblazing and entertaining. Did she sleep her way there? Look at these details.

Bringing back ‘The Jane Fonda Workout’ lewks in 2020

Oscar-winning actress, activist, and the queen of aerobics, Jane Fonda took us back in time to 1982 on Instagram to remind everyone to vote in the upcoming election on November 3rd. The PSA opened with a funky fresh 80s beat and the words “EXERCISE That Vote” pop up, followed by “with Jane Fonda” written in neon pink.

In a red leotard and matching exercise headband, the stunning Jane Fonda, 82, began the video by saying, “Hello class! We’re bringing back the movement!” Righteous! Fonda continued saying, “We need you to be in shape for the upcoming race. I need you to be strong, I need you to be laser focused, I need you to be fully committed to the task at hand. So, let’s get ready to exercise our right to vote!”

The video then panned out to a Zoom style grid of a few celebrities working out in classic 80s attire. We saw Ken Jeong, from The Hangover and Dr. Ken, sporting a navy blue tank top with a neon yellow trim and matching short shorts. Jeong went that extra step and wore a neon lime green headband and blue, retro wristbands. Jeong held a weight in one hand and told the camera “exercise your right to vote” in a hilariously deep and macho voice.

High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens looked super stylish as always while she encouraged people to vote. Hudgens did some 80s style moves while wearing a high pony with a scrunchie, a nude bandeau, black suspenders, mesh black biker shorts with a neon green high-waisted bikini-style bottom over top, and white sneakers. She looked very 80s and very contemporary at the same time. (That’s so bad to the bone!)

7-foot-tall, famous retired basketball player Shaquille O’Neal joined in on the fun by doing glute clenches in a black muscle tee tucked into grey basketball shorts.

Scandal actress Kerry Washington went all out with her 80s workout attire. Washington did sit-ups while wearing a “Let’s Get Physical” graphic t-shirt. She also sported neon paint-splatter leggings with silver metallic high-waisted shorts. She accessorised with hot pink leg-warmers, wristbands, headband, and gold door knocker hoops. Her outfit was 80s party goals

Comedian Amy Schumer enthusiastically jumped rope in a white Vogue t-shirt, red leggings, and black undies on top. Schumer sensually told us to exercise our right to vote while holding the blue jump rope and rocking a mess side bun.

“Firework” singer Katy Perry recently had a baby with The Lord of the Rings actor Orlando Bloom. Although Perry may not be ready to exercise just yet, she enjoyed a candy bar while spying on her fiance lifting weights in a black sleeveless top and tight short shorts. She later pumped milk for baby Daisy Dove while telling us to “Get pumped to vote.” (Oh Katy.)

Ashley Benson, from Pretty Little Liars, rocked a shiny bubblegum pink gymnastics leotard with shorts with a pink jacket tied around her waist. She struck a pose on her little trampoline in her home. (It looks like fun . . . we want one now! Although our downstairs neighbors might not appreciate it.)

The PSA comes to an end with exercise guru Fonda telling us to exercise our glutes, exercise our quads, and most of all, exercise your right to vote! Exercisethatvote.org appears on the screen at the end of the video. It’s a real website where you can fill out a form from register2vote.org.

This PSA has got us not only pumped to vote, but now we’re pumped to do some aerobics with Fonda’s 1982 workout. (Does anyone have any leg warmers we can borrow?)

Come November 3rd, you best believe will be putting on our leggings, fanny packs, our whitest sneakers, and of course our masks to jog on over to the polls!
