See the list of movies on Disney Plus you forgot Disney owns
The list of movies on Disney Plus is massive. There are so many films to watch, including older & newer content. Gone are the days of needing to buy your favorite Disney movies individually. With the streaming service, there are a lot of options for just a few dollars a month.
There are a lot of Disney-owned films that have been forgotten about, though. Here is a list of movies on Disney Plus that often go overlooked:
Flubber
Flubber is a 1997 film starring Robin Williams. This fictional comedy follows the story of Philip Brainard, a scientist & professor. Philip accidentally creates a rubbery substance that becomes sentient.
The substance, which he calls “flubber”, takes over his life & relationships. This is a classic Robin Williams film and a great addition to the Disney Plus movies list.
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
Honey, I Shrunk the Kids is another Disney classic. The film was released in 1989 and follows the story of four kids who accidentally get shrunk by their inventor dad’s shrink ray. While they deal with being tiny, the dad has to find a way to bring them back to their normal size.
This is a great comedy to watch. While thinking of Disney may surface thoughts of newer movies like Moana or Toy Story, this is one of the many non-animated Disney films that became big hits. The sequel to the film, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid, is also on the list of movies on Disney Plus.
Recess: School’s Out
The animated show Recess first aired on Disney in 1997 and spanned six seasons. In 2001, a film with the show’s beloved characters & storyline came out. It’s called Recess: School’s Out and it’s another forgotten film in the Disney Plus movies list.
This show isn’t talked about very often when it comes to late 90s Disney animations, and fans of the show may have forgotten about it. Watching the movie could help former Recess watchers resurface their memories of the show.
Fantasia
Fantasia is one of the older Disney films. Luckily, this classic is part of the list of Disney Plus movies. The movie came out in 1940 and started as a Mickey Mouse animated short. It became a full length film that blends beautiful animation with classical music.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Just like how Atlantis is a supposed lost city, the 2001 Disney film Atlantis: The Lost Empire also seems to have been lost in time. This film isn’t talked about very often when it comes to discussions about Disney films.
Despite not being as iconic as films like Toy Story or Lilo & Stitch, this movie is on the list of movies on Disney Plus. This means the forgotten film can be remembered once again. For those interested in watching, the film is about a cartographer who searches for the lost empire of Atlantis.
Robin Hood
There have been various film renditions of the story of Robin Hood, but none of them compete with the Disney animated classic Robin Hood. This 1973 film portrays Robin Hood as a fox who battles with Prince John (a lion) and the Sheriff of Nottingham (a wolf) when the prince starts increasing taxes. This film is great for all ages and can be watched on Disney Plus.
A Bug’s Life
A Bug’s Life was the second Pixar film to come out. This 1998 film is about a group of ants who fight back against a tyrannical group of grasshopper leaders.
The film is an iconic addition to the early Pixar movies, and it can be watched on Disney Plus as part of the platform’s long list of movies.
The Parent Trap
While The Parent Trap starring Lindsay Lohan is a classic, the original The Parent Trap is even more of a classic. The 1961 Disney movie stars Hayley Mills. Mills plays two twins in the movie who switch lives with each other.
This is a movie that has been loved for decades and is now part of the list of movies on Disney Plus.
