Bingewatch Award Finalists: Why to vote for ‘PLL: The Perfectionists’

Below, we’ve outlined a few reasons why Freeform’s finalist Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists would be perfectly suited to win the Bingewatch Awards.
It’s not just a rehash of Pretty Little Liars
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is set several years after the events of Pretty Little Liars, but other than that, there are key differences. Pretty Little Liars dealt with high school overachievers, while Perfectionists follows three overachieving college friends.
The East Coast of PLL moved out west for Perfectionists, and rather than threatening anonymous text messages in PLL, the main characters in Perfectionists receive their anonymous messages through wallpaper.
Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists is loosely based off Sara Shepard’s eponymous book. Shepard also wrote the PLL series, but other than that, it looks like Freeform is heading in a new direction with a new set of stories to tell.
We’re suckers for a good murder mystery
We’d never want to generalize, but it is 100% scientifically proven that murder mysteries are the best shows to bingewatch in one sitting.
The Perfectionists doesn’t disappoint. The pilot starts out with a good old-fashioned impaling as Nolan Hotchkiss (Chris Mason) ends up on the wrong side of a fence, setting up the rest of the season as a whodunit for the rest of the cast to sort through.
We live for Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists’s fashion
While PLL gave us a smorgasbord of Pinterest-worthy outfits, Perfectionists took it up a notch. The entire first season was stacked with A-line skirts, denim jackets, and funeral-worthy black dresses. Considering the number of deaths that took place in the first season, it’s a safe bet to assume the second season will be serving even more macabre-styled looks.
