How can you grab tickets for the Fugees reunion tour?

Live music fans: you don’t need us to tell you the past year & a half has been tough. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic changed so much for so many, and one of the biggest hit industries was the entertainment industry. Live music, like many group activities, was largely put on hold in 2020, while various jerry-rigged attempts took place with socially-distanced regulations and plastic bubbles out of a science fiction film.

However, this summer, live music came back with a vengeance. People gathered again for live concerts in many parts of the world, following vaccine roll outs, and now the fall shows massive music festivals close on the horizon. Reunion tours are following the cultural suit of on-screen revivals & reboots, and fans are getting some of their favorite bands back together on stage in 2021.

The latest reunion news comes from 90s icons the Fugees, as rumor has it the band will be getting back on the road for a reunion tour. What’s the tea? Let’s take a look.

Believe the hype

Consequence reported on Tuesday that the rumors are true, and the Fugees will come back together for a reunion tour

Zoomers may or may not be super familiar with the Fugees members, who lit up radio waves back in the 90s. Nevertheless, Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and Pras Michel will be getting together again to do some of their first live shows in fifteen years in 2021.

The news has fans wondering where the group will bring their tour, and which states, or even countries will be able to check out the 1990s supergroup. Reports say the Fugees will return for an international tour presenting twelve select cities around the world with their first shows in over a decade. So what’s the occasion for the new tour?

Happy anniversary

The Fugees reunion tour will come to fans to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of their massive album The Score which first came to audiences in 1996. Furthermore, news says the group has some tricks up their sleeves, starting with the first show of the international tour.

Reports say the first show of the Fugees The Score anniversary tour will go down not too far from their home state of New Jersey in New York City. However, the show is said to not be your typically over-promoted reunion kick-off. In fact, you won’t be able to find the show unless you’re in the know.

Sources say the first show of the Fugees tour will happen in an undisclosed location in NYC. However, the rest of the tour dates & locations (most of them, anyway) have been released to the public.

Where & when

After NYC, the Fugees will move on to United Center in Chicago, Oakland Arena in California, The Forum in L.A., State Farm Arena in Atlanta, FTX Arena in Miami, Prudential Center in Jersey, Capital One Arena in D.C., La Defense Arena in Paris, The O2 in London, and finally, two TBA locations in Nigeria & Ghana.

So, where do you get tickets?

Tickets for the Fugees reunion tour go on sale Friday September 24th at 10 AM on Ticketmaster. However, you’ll have to do your own sleuthing to find tickets for the New York City gig, and you better get moving – the concert is Wednesday September 22nd.

Fans of the iconic group are stoked for the shows, but they aren’t the only ones. Fugees matriarch Lauren Hill is quoted saying, “The Fugees have a complex but impactful history . . . I decided to honor this significant project, its anniversary, and the fans who appreciated the music by creating a peaceful platform where we could unite, perform the music we loved, and set an example of reconciliation for the world”. Amen, Ms. Hill.
