Where can you find vegan ice cream on the menu at Baskin Robbins?
Ice cream month is finally upon us! Sometimes, it feels like the sun is baking our towns like bread. Every now and then, we need and deserve a nice cone or bowl of ice cream to cool us down while filling us up. But ice cream has never been associated with the vegan diet.
First, let’s focus on the ice cream! It’s a great source of calcium which is a key weight loss ingredient. Inside the treat lives vitamins and minerals like vitamin D and A, riboflavin and phosphorus. Have you tried ice cream with dark chocolate? It has flavonoids to protect your heart. Ice cream has been shown to stimulate the brain, give you energy, strengthen your bones, immune system, even just make you feel happy.
Experts found that vegans don’t have to be left out! With these collections of heatwaves, everybody’s going to want in on this treat and Baskin Robbins’ menu is making that happen. They’re just as obsessed with oak milk as we are. They’re bringing the new vegan ice cream to 2,500 locations!
‘Baskin Robbins’
As one of the world’s largest chains of its kind, it’s given birth to 2,500 shops nationwide. They started out with merely thirty-one flavors. Now, they’re home to offer 1.300 with the young addition of the vegan option.
It’s a new Non-Dairy Salted Fudge Bar flavor composed with a creamy salted dark chocolate oak milk base swirled with smooth fudge ribbons and dotted with fudge pieces. Perhaps, you just thought of the texture of chocolate oatmeal cookies? And fudge ribbons are by far the most elegant article of clothing ice cream can wear.
For full disclosure, of course, the flavor does not contain animal products, but Baskin Robbins cannot guarantee that there will be no cross-contact between products or ingredients.”
Oat Milk
The brand says, “Each bite of this rich flavor packs a punch indulgence with melt-in-your-mouth creaminess from the oatmilk-base that makes it the greatest thing since ice cream.” Their experts worked assiduously to coin an oat milk base of richly smooth and creamy consistency. “The result is a perfect balance of elements that delivers on the flavor experience Baskin Robbins’ guest love and expect.
Baskin-Robbins chose oat-milk based Non-Dairy Strawberry Streusel as their May flavor of the month. They’re the first national chain to bring oat milk-based vegan ice cream to their menu. The strawberry is composed with creamy oak milk base spotted with strawberries, crumbly streusel and cinnamon granola. It was only the first of the oat milk flavors to be introduced this year.
Baskin-Robbins’ Vice President of Marketing & Culinary, Shannon Blakely said, “We’re so passionate about this new base and Flavor of the Month as it’s not just an evolution of our offerings, but a sign of our passion and commitment to creating what’s ‘next’ in frozen desserts.”
The company launched their first vegan flavor in August of 2019. They made it with a base of almond butter and coconut oil, which you could also get in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Chocolate Extreme Flavors. November, 2019’s flavor of the month was Vegan Coffee Caramel Chunk, presenting an espresso-flavored base spotted with chocolate chunks and the lovely caramel ribbons. All ribbons are elegant for ice cream.
In March, they launched their fully Vegan Mangonada. It’s a spicy drink representing the Mexican favorite out of Mango purée, spiced with Tajín. Now, more national chains are adding oat milk to their menus. You can find vegan options at Dunkin’ Donuts. Starbucks will be giving us oat milk options too!
