Heroes of the Shadow World: ‘Shadowhunters’ Con takes Manhattan

If this is your first time visiting Film Daily, welcome! Have you heard of ShadowhuntersIf you’ve been here before, welcome! And settle in for more Shadowhunters updates.

You know by now that here at Film Daily we stan for Shadowhunters like Cookie Monster stans for cookies – it’s an all-encompassing passion that has completely taken over our lives. We’ve spoken again and again and again about how Shadowhunters deserves to be saved, about how Shadowhunters is being held hostage by our corporate overlords, and most recently, how The PCAs were rigged against our favor.

Despite Shadowhunters being one of the best fantasy TV shows in the known universe, there’s something else that makes Shadowhunters really special: the Shadowfam.

We’re not just living in #peakTV, we’re also in the age of #peakfans

2018 was an interesting year. We had a royal wedding, the Winter Olympics in South Korea, and NASA launched its $1.5 billion Parker Solar Probe straight into the sun. But what really interested us was the world of TV fandom. That year signaled a change in fan campaigns, where small groups gained momentum and were able to save their favorite shows from the brink of cancellation en masse.

Networks have repeatedly failed to understand the value of some of their best shows and gone for them with the cancellation axe, despite sizable, passionate fanbases campaigning for them to be saved. So far, fan campaigns have proven successful in bringing shows back, or at the very least managed to get a farewell movie to tie up loose ends.

By far the largest and most impressive fan campaign for a cancelled TV show has come from Freeform’s Shadowhunters. Fans have refused to accept that the show end after the third season and have organized a number of impressive grassroots efforts to campaign for Shadowhunters to be saved.

The ShadowFam, much like the rocket that NASA is launching into the sun, is not to be underestimated. For those looking in from the outside, their enthusiasm and relentless resistance in the face of their fave show ending goes to show Shadowhunters just isn’t your average TV show.

From the ashes of the Shadowhunters cancellation, the Shadowfam has risen phoenix-like, building a strong community and completing massive feats such as:

  • Winning the Shadowhunters numerous awards for vote-in polls
  • Raising over $50,000 for charity
  • Building strong grassroots communities and networks to help at-risk individuals and provide community for people who feel isolated

Shadowfam, assemble!

We’ve witnessed the awesome might of fandom engagement, and it’s about time they were rewarded for it.

Heroes of the Shadow World is the first ever Shadowhunters-only convention in North America, and it’s coming to New York City the weekend of April 3rd – 5th, 2020.

The three-day event takes place at the InterContinental New York Times Square Hotel and is a celebration for the cast, crew, music, and fans of Shadowhunters, with a variety of activities including panels, autographs, photo ops, and chats. Fans get the chance to meet their favorite stars and get a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Shadowhunters from the crew who made the Shadow World come to life.

Heroes of the Shadow World will also include a fundraising event benefiting The Trevor Project.

And if we haven’t made it clear that Film Daily honors all things Shadowhunters all the time, we also managed to chat with the amazing Event Director of Jalmics International Diane about Heroes of the Shadow World.

When Diane talks all things Shadowhunters, we listen

How did you start your journey creating Heroes of the Shadow World?

Well, you guys know that better than me. It was your passion for the #SaveShadowhunters campaign that led you to contact me in regards to the possibility of an event in North America in relation to the TV show Shadowhunters. I was intrigued by the idea and started to look at all the options – and here we are!

What other events were you inspired by?

I will always remember the atmosphere at the Turn of the Century Celebration on the December 31st, 1999 at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff: an amazing event to plan and put on. It was the best party of all time for attendees and staff alike, and it is that spirit that I always try to bring to every event I run.

Tell us about your history and your team’s history with events.

We have quite a varied history, which means we see things from a lot of different angles. As you can imagine, this results in quite a unique outcome. We put our own Jalmics twist on our events.

My personal history is with larger-scale events such as concerts and stadium events, but also conventions and exhibitions which range in size. The team’s experience ranges from organizing all kinds of conventions and competitions to education events for 3,000 delegates.

Why do you believe so strongly that Shadowhunters should be saved?

When I started researching the show, it soon became apparent that it has an exceptionally strong fanbase, which is still growing even though the show was cancelled. The depth of feeling for the show is also mirrored in the people who worked on Shadowhunters

This is exceptionally unusual, and upon investigation it appears to be due to the underlying themes of the show, which deals with so many issues that are important to people today. Ultimately, Shadowhunters brings people together with its strong themes of love and hope.

From my perspective, any show that can reach an international audience and unify across barriers of language, race, sex, colour, religion, and sexual preference should be supported and continued.

Where did the concept come from for Heroes of the Shadow World?

There have been a lot of midnight candles burning when discussing the concept for this event, as we wanted to give Shadowhunters the celebration it deserves, and in keeping of our mantra, make it fun for everyone who attends.

We have therefore created a three-day event featuring some evening activities that doesn’t just focus on five to ten actors, but is dedicated to the whole show. That includes the cast and crew, the music and the fandom. For us, they all are “Heroes of the Shadow World” hence the title of our con!

For us, it is really more of a celebration than a convention. We wanted to put together a unique event with a different concept. With that in mind, the convention is in part a fundraising event benefiting The Trevor Project, an organization close to the heart of the fandom. And as for location: from our perspective, it just had to be based in New York, the home of the Shadowhunters storyline.

Why should people attend Heroes of the Shadow World?

First of all, it is going to be a huge celebration of the show and the people you love.

If you are a fan of Shadowhunters, then this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for you to mingle with the cast & crew and the Shadowfam over three days. Who doesn’t want to hang out with the Vampires, Warlocks, Werewolves, Demons, Seelies, and Shadowhunters? You will also get to chat with the people who brought Shadowhunters to life and ask all the questions that you have always wanted to but never had the chance to.

Of course there will also be the traditional convention elements such as autograph and photography opportunities, but that is really just the start of this adventure in the Shadow World with us.

Do you have an online streaming option for fans?

We haven’t planned an online streaming option at this point, however, we will be sharing photos & video snippets and livetweeting the event.

What have been your greatest successes in the past?

This is always a hard one to answer as it depends on your definition of success. A lot of my business successes are surrounded in confidentiality agreements, which is exceptionally frustrating in this instance. But I can say that when you bring parties together in negotiation where resolution appears impossible, it brings an undeniable amount of joy.

Every event is an equal success, and it may sound trite but I really do get a buzz from seeing people enjoying themselves. In my personal life, sending my son off into Snowdonia to wild camp for four days without worrying about him, knowing I have given him the skills to cope, was my most recent success. I see success every day from giving a new employee confidence and new skills, to closing a successful deal for a client.

Talk us through your creative process.

At Jalmics our motto is merging mindsets, and it is about merging the logical and business side of our brains with the creative aspects. This is always at the forefront of our creative process, which really is a joint effort.

Our team is based around the world and we really do work 24/7, so our creative process flies around the world faster than the speed of sound. Ideas bounce around and sense and logic are tested simultaneously.

It is amazing to watch, as one person will have an idea and by the time they wake up again, it has been fully worked through and a decision has been made as to whether it will work or not.

What tips do you have for Shadowhunters fans who want to save the show?

Be patient, stay calm, remain committed, and most importantly, unite together. These are very strong business ideals for success, and they apply equally in this situation.

What part of Shadowhunters do you geek out about the most?

Well, I have watched the show as part of my research, however I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, and really don’t want to pretend that I am. There are a lot of dedicated fans out there who could get a university degree on their knowledge of ShadowhuntersI especially like the interplay between Asmodeus, Magnus, and Alec towards the end of season three, and thought that was an interesting storyline that could have gone even further.

Do you run any other projects we need to know about?

One of the unique elements of Jalmics is that we really do dedicate ourselves to the projects that we take on. We turned down a crowdfunding project in order to be able to really give Heroes of the Shadow World our focus and do it justice.

Have you worked with mentors in the past? How would you recommend people go about finding them?

I have worked with some quite amazing mentors in the past, and good ones are exceptionally hard to find. It is very difficult to get to meet them in person, but using social media you can find people from whom you can learn. I am a great believer in reading autobiographies of people you admire and philosophies that interest you as well.

I will share one of the things an early mentor in my life taught me that has stayed with me ever since: “You can have everything you want in life, but not always at the same time.” It is amazing how many times this has helped me make difficult decisions.

What’s the five-year plan for Heroes of the Shadow World?

Without getting ahead of ourselves, if the Shadowfam likes what we do, then we will host further events in different locations – but always with a twist, and we will of course return to New York in the future. There are so many possibilities here! Our minds are bursting and we can’t fit all of our ideas into this event.

Can you tell us about any surprises you’ve got in store?

Okay, if that’s what you want. Spoiler alert!

We noticed there is a photo booth strip of Magnus and Alec that is commented on a lot, so we thought it would be a great idea for the Shadowfam to be able to take photos with the family they have made through the fandom. Included in the price of each ticket will be a strip of photobooth photos for each fan.

  • Growing up in a conservative Muslim family, we were always taught that anything to do with the LGBTQ+ community is completely wrong, in fact, you are taught that there is no such thing as an LGBTQ+ community but watching Shadowhunters & watching #Malec in particular and other such relationships on Shadowhunters being portrayed in such a positive light has changed my way of thinking COMPLETELY…..I have become such a huge supporter of the LGBTQ+ community because of Malec and at every opportunity I can find I now try to show many other Muslims as well, who still disapprove of same sex relationships, that the biggest religion of all is HUMANITY. #Malec’s ultimate message of love and acceptance is something that needs to be spread as far and wide as possible because I believe that it will only make the world a much better place to live in especially for the future generation. I am so grateful to Matt & Harry for doing such an amazing job with #Malec and I really hope they know just how many different communities they do make a difference in.

  • Shadowhunters was my guiding light during the absolute worst time in my life. I had discovered the show a few weeks after losing my mother in the Spring of 2016. Since then Shadowhunters has given me so much happiness, strength, friendships, and love since that time. The show has helped me through the worst of times and I will never not support the cast or the story. I find so much solace and peace watching the show. I have met so many friends and traveled to so many places because of Shadowhunters and I could never thank the story enough for getting me through the tough times and turning them into good ones.

  • Shadowhunters… When I wake up, I check twitter, what new… During the day, I think about Shadowhunters… Ať the evenings, sometimes, I watch this show, sometimes read some fan fiction and ať the night … I dream Shadowhunters dreams… The show means world to me…

  • Shadowhunters has a throughout amazing cast who put so much care into portraying their characters! And on top I found a lot of lovely people in the fellow fans community. :)

    February 6, 2020
  • I entered into the world of Shadowhunters when I started college and it expanded my world. Clary is a character this world needs- she was thrown into a world and situation where she knows nothing and is completely at the whim of others- yet still stayed true to what she believes is right. She forged her own path and inspired others to follow. The shadow-world changed for the better because of her, and I love how Kat tries to do the same in real life. Shadowhunters is a family, it’s an inspiration, and is so, so, so important for this world. Shadowhunters forever!

  • Shadowhunters means the world to me, the story, the characters, the cast…when I discovered it in 2016, I was 14, now I’m almost 18. I had the amazing chance to grow up with this beautiful show and cast. I had to go through a lot of stuff when I was younger, and this show helped me so much on a daily basis, especially my favorite character Clary and cast member Kat. Clary taught me to never give up no matter what happens. She has gone though hell and everything that happened to her made her stronger. I became stronger. And more than I ever thought I was. I started accepting myself the way I am, to be confident, to feel better in myself. even if it’s hard. Thanks to this show, I also discovered my sexuality. SH taught me so much about life, love, self love, confidence etc…Besides, this show is a safe place for all of us, a place of love, acceptance and community. I’m forever grateful for everything this show has brought to me. It may be gone, but it will forever be a part of me, a part of my soul that I’ll never forget. I’m not going anywhere. I’ll never stop loving the show.

  • This show means more than I can express in words. It carried me through the death of my parents. It helped my teenage daughter and I share and discuss our grief. It offered my daughter positive role models and we even found our religion portrayed with accuracy, respect and postiti it’s. I am so excited for the NY Con. With a con in the US, I have the opportunity to go meet these people who gave us this show and thank them for their hard work. Thanks to Jalmics and Film Daily for your hard work and support of the Shadowfam.

    February 6, 2020

  • “Heroes aren’t always the ones who win. They’re the ones who lose, sometimes. But they keep fighting, they keep coming back. They don’t give up. That’s what makes them heroes.” – Clary Fray in City of Heavenly Fire
Clary Fray is a true hero. I have continued to be inspired by her courage and tenacity, and have thoroughly enjoyed watching Kat bring this character to life. An inspiring woman playing an inspiring woman. I hope to continue to follow Kat’s journey as I followed Clary’s. Thanks so much Film Daily for offering this incredible prize!

    February 6, 2020
  • Going to this convention and meeting Kat McNamara and the rest of the cast/crew would be a dream come true! I will be graduating with my Masters degree in May 2020 and this would be such a special way to celebrate. I would also love to ask Kat how in the world she manages to work towards her Masters degree while also acting! She has been such a huge inspiration for me during my schooling and I would so appreciate the opportunity to tell her that in person! Thanks so much film daily for this amazing prize!????❤️

    February 6, 2020
  • Shadowhunters is that special show to me. It was there when I needed it the most and taught me so many important things. It also brought some of my absolute best friends (one of them lives in NY and it would be amazing for me to visit her) and my biggest inspiration, Luke. I truly hope I can win this mostly because Luke will be there and I want to give him a massive hug. Of course I’d be really excited meeting the whole cast and crew (!!) because they were all a part of the show. ❤

    February 6, 2020
  • Shadowhunters is such an amazing show with such a wonderful cast of diverse characters. Th representation in the show is unparalleled, and the cast is full of truly talented actors.

    February 6, 2020
  • I only recently watched Shadowhunters. It has always been a show I wanted to watch and a book series that I’ve wanted to read. As soon as I watched the first episode I was hooked and now I’m obsessed. I love the show so much and next up is reading the books!

    February 6, 2020
  • Amazing article!! I loved reading about the process behind putting the con together, and the message is just so on point for everything the ShadowFam stands for, joy, happiness and family.

Would so love to be there!

    February 6, 2020
  • This would be such a dream come true to win, thank you so much Film Daily ??

    February 6, 2020
  • Shadowhunters did what no other show managed to do. This is the first time I got so invested in a shows characters, the friendships, relationships and all the stories that I wanted to become a part of the fandom. Shadowhunters gave me a lot of happiness, peace and inspiration in a time where I couldn’t really find those things in any other aspect of my life. What really drew me in was Malec’s love story. As a movie and show addict I have seen uncountable couples on screen but none of them ever touched my heart like Malec did. They teached me what love truly is and made me look forward to finding this kind of love one day for myself. There is something so pure, soft and genuine about them, that I have never seen anywhere else. On top of that it’s an interracial same sex couple that we got to see being so wonderfully represented in a time where TV shows either totally lack queer and poc rep or stereotype us. In general Shadowhunters is very diverse, whether it comes to the characters or the different stories it has told or teached us about. Homophobia, racism, bigotry, drug addiction, suicide, abuse, loss and so much more is talked about on this show. 5 out of the 8 main cast members are people of color. We have female leads who are portrayed just as strong as the male leads. Also women supporting other women is shown. But what really fascinates me is that Shadowhunters has 10 LGBTQ characters and 3 same sex relationships. Again, this show did what no other shows managed to do and I hope that so many more people in the future get to see and learn from it.❤️

    February 6, 2020
  • I love Shadowhunters so much. It taught me so much about life. I’ll forever be grateful for everything the show and cast has brought to me. Love them to infinity and beyond.

    February 7, 2020
  • Shadowhunters was the very first show I’ve ever watched. When I discovered it, I immediately feel in love with it, truly. It’s so beautiful and inspiring. It also talks about very important topics in life and it helps so much. I love this show and cast to the moon and back.

    February 7, 2020
  • Thank you Shadowhunters for everything. Every single cell of my body loves you.

    February 7, 2020
  • One last Time @filmdaily.
I think each and everyone of this cast bring something to the show.
They were perfect for their role and each was passionate about it.
Because it’s also going to be maybe a one time life convention and it will be amazing to be there et celebrate.

    February 7, 2020
  • Shadowhunters came to me at a time in my life when I already knew I wasn’t straight but was still figuring out how that worked into my identity. It was characters like Magnus Bane who were their unapologetic self that helped me feel more comfortable in my own skin. And watching Alec’s journey of accepting himself and being accepted by those around him for being a gay man in a relationship with another man showed me that it’s always worth the risk to live proud as your truest self than try and hide it away. I will forever be thankful for what characters like Magnus and Alec did for me.

    February 7, 2020
  • Shadowhunters helped me not feel so alone- to connect to a world that takes place in a city I grew up in. It made fictional characters feel like family and give me the strength to overcome a lot of loss and pain in my life. Seeing the cast be so interactive and wonderful has just enhanced my connection with this world. I will always think of Shadowhunters as home

    February 7, 2020
  • Shadowhunters is the one show that will always give me comfort, peace and happiness. Coming home and watching the episodes or even just letting them play in the background while I go about my day always puts me in a good mood. Even now, 9 months after the finale aired, I still get giddy when I see Shadowhunters related posts on my timeline. This show had such a huge impact on so many people and I’m so thankful that I discovered it and got to be a part of this amazing family.

    February 7, 2020
  • I don’t know what to write, i just love shadowhunters and the whole shadow world. Would be amazing to get to the con, but from germany it’s very expensive to get there ?

    February 7, 2020
  • Happy Fray Friday Film Daily! Winning this prize would be such a dream come true for me. Shadowhunters has been such a source of joy and inspiration in my life. These characters mean so much to me and I would so cherish the opportunity to thank those who brought them to life. Thank you so much for this!❤️??

    February 7, 2020
  • My love for Malec is a love that knows no bounds. Magnus’ and Alec’s love story will forever be my safe haven and I am so thankful that the show introduced us to another version of Malec and gave them the screentime they deserved!

    February 7, 2020
  • It is very hard to put into words how much Shadowhunters means to me and since I was never in a fandom before, I was a bit overwhelmed because of how invested I was. The fact that I never was before just speaks volumes of the power Shadowhunters has! Since then I wasn’t able to find a show that gave me the same feeling and sometimes I’m afraid that I never will. We really deserved to see more of the characters, to see the stories coming to an end naturally. We were robbed of that, but I still think that we got the best possible ending considering the circumstances. I will always have those stories and I won’t ever forget about them.

    February 7, 2020
  • I love shadowhunters!!!
Would be amazing to get there!

    February 7, 2020
  • Want to go there so badly.. Shadowhunters forever!
I am so in love with this great Show and the Characters. Meeting all of them would be a dream come true ♥️

    February 7, 2020
  • Not to be dramatic but this show saved me. The struggles, the strength, the love and overall chemistry of the show brought the light in my soul back to life. Now I can be supportive to my sister instead of always being a burden. These angels are my light.

    February 7, 2020
  • I just read all these beautiful comments on here and it proves just how much Shadowhunters means to people from all over the world. It saved so many of us, brought people together who became friends/partners, helped people to not only discover but also accept and love themselves and connected us all on a level that cannot be explained with words. I know that no matter how much time passes, this show will always have a huge place in my heart and I will always go back and think about how much it means to me and think about all the things I’ve learned from it. It gives me peace to know that no matter how exhausting life gets, that I will always have this: something that will put a smile on my face and let me forget about anything else. This show will always be my light in the dark. ❤️

    February 7, 2020
  • Malec are my parents. Their fierce, self sacrificing love. And this show carried me thru their deaths. Simon even said the mourners Kaddish with me. I’ll never be able to make sense of how much this show helped me, but I am so excited for the opportunity to meet the cast and crew and thank them in person.

    February 7, 2020
  • Shadowhunters played a huge role in me accepting myself and finding my path in life. I remember watching Raphael talk about him not being interested in sex and it was the first time I have seen Asexual representation on a TV show. I did know before, that I wasn’t interested in it, but never actually addressed the topic or put a name to how I felt. But seeing that on screen gave me a lot of confidence. I saw a strong man talk openly about it and also saw him getting accepted and I thought to myself: ‘This is what I want!’ Ever since I proudly speak about my asexuality and I feel so much better about myself. I know that so many other people in the fandom had the same experience with the same or other characters. Basically the show, the characters and of course the wonderful cast became a part of our journey of self-discovery and I think I speak on behalf of all those fans when I say that we will forever be unbelievably grateful for that!

    February 7, 2020
  • When I think of Shadowhunters now and everything it means to me, I can’t help but think of the Katy Perry song: “ Just because it’s over doesn’t mean it’s really over
And if I think it over, maybe you’ll be comin’ over again
And I’ll have to get over you all over again
Just because it’s over doesn’t mean it’s really over
And if I think it over, maybe you’ll be comin’ over…” the world create din Shadowhunters- that story- is never really over- the light it created, the movement it sparked- it lives on in fans and the cast and crew- we all keep it alive. It’s never really over. Shadowhunters is family

    February 7, 2020
  • I didn’t know about the Trevor Project fundraiser. Even if I don’t win I’d love to be able to donate.

Could you possibly put a tweet up on how I could do that?

    February 7, 2020
  • This show was the reason why I looked forward to the week. I remember waiting for new episodes and just being excited for what’s to come. Shadowhunters was the reason why I woke up with a smile remembering last nights episode and how it made me feel alive. This show tackled so many things and the most important one to me is the relationship that was built all throughout the show. Clary cared for everyone and gave them the benefit of the doubt when they were clearly no trustworthy. She saw the best in people and how everyone can somehow become good. This cast was the cast that I truly loved, they were the first ones that I kept updates on because I really wanted to know all the things that were going on that included them. Weather them having new projects, new PhotoShoots, or just overall news about them. It would be my dream to meet them because they made such an impact on my life. I have been a fan of Katherine McNamara since 2011 and I remember her being on Disney and other shows she guest starred in. Her acting abilities just wow me and I wanna be like her someday. My dream to be an actor and she helped sharpen my skills when I watch her due to me learning more by just watching her expressions and how she says each line. I smile each time I see her Interact with fans because it shows she truly cares about us. We are not just part of a fandom we are also family. This show helped me create more friends and interact with them. It shows that people from all over the world can chat and gush over a show and not get judged by other people who simply don’t get what it means to be a fan girl. I would get made fun of when I say I love certain celebrities but when I talk to my internet friends I feel like I’ve known them my whole life. This show created such an impact on me I am so emotional when I watch the last episode! Shadowhunters will always be in my heart!

    February 7, 2020
  • For so many of us Shadowhunters has literally taking over our lives. We have daily discussions with friends about our favorite scenes, characters, ships, villains etc, we post pictures and videos on Twitter, we look at the wonderful art people in the fandom create, read the amazing fanfictions writers provide us with for free or just rewatch the show. And there is something so beautiful about it being constantly present in our daily lives. There would be something missing if we didn’t get our daily dose of Shadowhunters. :D It’s kind of like when two people have been in a long relationship. The presence of the other person is a comfort because they’re so used to being around each other. This is how I feel about the show. ❤️

    February 7, 2020
  • This show meant the world to me. It showed me a world where everyone can have their ups and downs. I love how they didn’t sugarcoat the things that were happening and were just dealing with the problems they were given and just went with it. They are such huge inspirations to me and each one of those characters taught me so many different things every day. It was no wonder my favorite was Clary she was very head strong and kept pushing forward with what she wanted. She didn’t back down from any fights and she had so much compassion. She cared for everyone and it shows what kind of person she is. I saw myself in her because I’m always going after what I want even though sometimes I’m not seeing the signs where I shouldn’t do that. Katherine McNamara is the reason why I feel so alive everyday. She inspires me so much on becoming an actress. Her abilities to display so many emotions is just the most amazing thing ever. Meeting them at once would be a dream come true. This would probably the only convention in North America and I really want to be there to share just that special moment. It would be a life changing event. They all mean the world to me. Shadowhunters was my time to be different from the outside world and just pretend I’m a badass demon hunter or simply just fighting whatever comes my way. They taught me to love myself and to never be sorry for being who you are. They have truly changed my life.

  • Shadowhunters is a show with so many great messages, the main one being exeptance. It seems so easy but yet it’s so difficult. It’s easier to exept everyone else the way way they are then to exept yourself, your true self. Loving yourself is much harder than loving the people around you, as a perfectionist I would know. Watching Shadowhunters didn’t just make me fall in love with characters like Clary, Alec, Magnus, etc. It gave me the important lesson of loving yourself, the way you are. How? Because despite the Shadowhunters being half angel, they are human to. They make misstakes and aren’t perfect. Clary makes a lot of mistakes throughout the show, but she also has the courage to admit them and she’ll do anything to make it right again. Admitting where you were wrong to me is one of the most courageous things human beings can do. That’s partly what makes the Shadowhunters, and the downworlders heroes, not just the bravery and the fighting evil. If you can love yourself though those flaws, knowing you don’t have to be perfect all the time, then you are your own hero.

You are Shadowhunters fans yourself and therefore know how much it would mean for all of us to be able to meet the cast and spend time with people who share the same interest! You guys have written amazing articles and supported Shadowhunters continuously and with that helped keeping this fandom alive. So again, thank you very much, Film Daily! ?

  • Shadowhunters is the best show of the 20th century! This show and it’s cast showed what true family means and that nothing can stand in the way of that. It is my absolute dream to meet the cast because they are my heroes especially Katherine McNamara. They have helped me realize that dreams really do come true if you really work for it and just believe in yourself. Truly amazing humans on this earth and really wish to tell them in person.

  • Clary Fray, Jace Herondale, Simon Lewis, Isabelle Lightwood, Alec Lightwood, and Magnus Bane have been a consistent part of my life for over 10 years. They have been such a crucial part of my personal growth and a source of happiness and inspiration through some incredibly hard times. When I found out that Shadowhunters was happening, I was so tremendously excited. I love these characters with my whole assheart (Matt! ?) and I knew that I would love this new version of them. Little did I know how much the cast themselves would come to mean to me. They all are truly such incredible individuals, with so much heart and soul. The creative talent of this cast/crew and the entire Shadowfam is astounding and brings me so much joy. Going to this convention and meeting Kat McNamara and the rest of the cast/crew would be a dream come true! Thanks so much film daily for this amazing prize!
