HBO has announced that Game of Thrones will return on Sunday, July 16 for its seventh season. The ensemble cast will star in seven episodes based on the bestselling George R.R. Martin book series. Never a network to shy away from high drama, HBO decided to unveil the news fans have been waiting for using Facebook live stream, which of course was marred with technical glitches.
Elsewhere in the Game of Thrones universe, hirsute hunk Kit Harrington spoke with ABC news about Season 7.

Kat Von D Beauty announced the launch of their first YouTube channel, Kat Von D Beauty YouTube. The outspoken tattooist-cum-reality-star-cum-personality-cum-entrepreneur was involved in a high-profile spat with fellow beauty maven Jeffree Starr last year. The new channel is being used as a tool to promote the new addition to her makeup line the Artistry Collective.
HBO to chronicle 2016 presidential race
HBO are planning a miniseries about the dramatic 2016 presidential election. The show will be based on Mark Halperin’s and John Heilemann’s forthcoming book, third in the Game Change series, covering “the most stunning political upset of all time.”

MGM wants to take full control of the Epix cable channel and has opened conversations with their partners Viacom & Lionsgate, reports Variety.

CNN presenter eats human brain on TV and just about everyone is pissed
Reza Aslan is a writer and reporter. For a new CNN show, Believer, he met with the Aghori, a tiny nomadic Indian religious sect. They worship Shiva but reject many Hindu tenets – and practice a few ceremonies which include a little bit of cannibalism. Yes, that’s right, they eat brains.
A good audience may be hard to find, so, in what reads as a desperate ratings grab, the CNN show featured Aslan performing such everyday activities as drinking wine from a skull, cooking human brain, wearing the ashes of a dead person as makeup, and eating said brain. The backlash has been epic, with criticisms coming from all sides calling the show racist, dangerous, and grossly misrepresentative of the Hindu religion. The Huffington Post published a scathing review and the US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC) released a statement condemning CNN and the team behind the show.
