What happened at the end of Season 2?
After the birth of Amy’s newborn baby and Tammy’s breakup with Jerry, the second season is certainly memorable. Both sisters go through their own challenges, especially Tammy who tests positive for COVID-19.
Fans were happy to see that Amy has successfully lost the amount of weight needed for her bariatric surgery despite her pregnancy! Unfortunately, the same doesn’t go for Tammy. Tammy has apparently gained weight since her last check-up with Dr. Smith.
“I mean, sometimes I try to eat healthier, and then other days I’m like, ‘What the heck’s the point?’” she asked him. She also revealed that she struggles with knowing how to stop eating.
“I’m really proud of you for the fact that you just admitted, ‘I don’t know how to stop,’ because that’s the first step in asking somebody to try to help you learn to stop,” Dr. Smith told Tammy.
Dr. Smith continued, “You could’ve blamed [that] you couldn’t get out of bed, you could’ve blamed that you had COVID and you could’ve blamed that you were in the hospital, and you didn’t. And believe it or not, that’s a step forward from where you’ve been in the past. So you just made progress even though your weight went up.”
The season ended on an uplifting note that Tammy was headed in the right direction and hopefully we’ll see progress in season 3.
When will there be a season 3?
We’re all looking forward to season 3 of 1000-lb Sisters now that we’ve already finished season two months ago! Despite many concerns that there would be no season 3, TLC listened to the fanbase and confirmed an upcoming season.
However, there still has been no filming start date let alone premiere release date announced so far. Yet, TLC’s typical airing schedule begins either in Winter 2021 or the first quarter of 2022.
Fans should also keep in mind that pandemic restrictions may cause a delay in production. Therefore, the third season of 1000-lb Sisters may be farther away than we think.
