Where are they now? Catch up with ‘Love Island USA’ season 2 contestants

Love Island USA season 2 delivered plenty of villa drama and post-finale surprises. Years later, the season still stands out because none of the highlighted couples stayed together long-term. The updates below keep the original split announcements intact while adding what has happened since those 2021 statements.

Justine Ndiba & Caleb Corprew

They might have been couple goals back in the villa when they won Love Island U.S.A. season 2, but this cute couple actually called it quits pretty quickly after filming. It’s not what you think – there’s actually no bad blood between the costars. In fact, in the beginning of their hot romance, Justine Ndiba & Caleb Corprew told Metro (UK) they would be taking their relationship slow outside of the show. But in January 2021, Ndiba announced their breakup on Instagram: “It’s truly a strange feeling to be typing this out but I understand my reality is now having to share some aspects of my life with you all regardless of how private I’d like to remain at times.” Justine Ndiba bravely confessed: “This is extremely difficult for me to express but out of respect for those of you who supported me, and rode for me, I want you to know that Caleb and I are no longer together.” The Love Island U.S.A season 2 winners also asked her fans for privacy during this time so they both can heal. Luckily, the pair are still following each other on social media, so it doesn’t seem all bad. Both have built modeling and influencing careers post-split, and no reconciliation has been reported since the 2021 announcement.

Cely Vazquez & Johnny Middlebrooks

After such a steamy romance back in the Love Island villa, the couple who placed second on Love Island U.S.A. were thriving without the cameras for quite a while. According to Digital Spy, Cely Vazquez confirmed her relationship with Johnny Middlebrooks was still thriving during the pandemic. She told her fans: “Y’all long distance sucks lol but Johnny boy and I made each other R&B playlists to listen to and it’s been getting me through the separation anxiety.” As incredible as a R&B playlist may have sounded, on January 9th, the couple called it quits. Vazquez thanked her fans and tweeted: “Because you’ve all been such a close part of our relationship, I wanted to share with you that Johnny and I are no longer together.” Johnny Middlebooks wrote on Instagram: “Thank you so much everything. I’m appreciative of the time we spent together on this unforgettable journey. I will forever cherish the fun we had, the laughs we shared, and the memories we created.” Cely has focused on music releases, while Johnny has pursued additional reality TV opportunities.

Moira Tumas & Calvin Cobb

Remember the third place couple Moira Tumas & Calvin Cobb? Well unfortunately, the distance came between the pair after their trip to Las Vegas. And though we don’t know what else happened in Las Vegas, we can only hope that the duo are still in touch. Tumas explained to People: After the show (Love Island U.S.A.) when we left Las Vegas and went back to the real world, our plan was to take it day by day. I really wanted to try and make our ‘situationship’ work.” Moira Tumas added that the pair were just “too busy” to make it work, and the distance was definitely a killer. “I was sad about it of course, because I thought we might be able to make something happen, but we just had to make a realistic decision and move forward.” Breakup confirmed in late 2020/early 2021 with no later reconciliation.

Laurel Goldman & Carrington Rodriguez

So here’s the story… it looks like season 2 of Love Island U.S.A. might’ve been great for Laurel Goldman & Carrington Rodriguez, but did this TV couple know what a regular romance would look like? According to Metro, the duo have stopped following each other on Instagram after a few months. Carrignton Rodriguez told Johnny Middlebrooks in an Instagram live video: “We were talking, right? We weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend. And that’s fine, we knew each other for two and a half weeks out of the show. We gave it an honest effort and it didn’t work.” Luckily, the Love Island U.S.A. star quickly told his Instagram followers that despite what everyone is saying about their split, Rodriguez still supports Laurel Goldman “in every way”. Carrington has made multiple franchise returns including Perfect Match and All Stars.

Connor Trott & Mackenzie Dipman

It might have been five weeks ago when Mackenzie Dipman was posting appreciation posts for her Love Island U.S.A. season 2 costar Connor Trott, but to remind fans about this couple, their romance actually went south when they went to Casa Amor. As Digital Spy noted, Trott & Dipman had quite a rocky time when Lauren came to the Love Island Villa. In fact, Connor went on a date with Lauren which shocked fans and Mackenzie. Not to worry, Connor soon went straight back to Mackenzie with facetime and a blossoming relationship. Hold your horses folks, because it looks like Mackenzie just announced on Saturday, that she & Connor have broken up. As People noted, the couple stated: “Some of you have been wondering about us and our relationship, so we want to help you to understand where we are right now. We are both young and in the early stages of our careers, and sadly those careers are keeping us in two different places. One of us is in Pittsburgh and the other is in Tucson, and neither one of us will be able to move anytime in the near future.” The news isn’t all bad as the former couple added: “P.S. Connor & Gus have already started planning their next boys weekend.” Mackenzie has appeared on additional Love Island-related programming.

Franchise Returns and Spin-Off Appearances

Multiple season 2 islanders have returned to the Love Island universe or similar shows since 2021. Justine Ndiba and Johnny Middlebrooks returned for season 2 of Love Island Games. Ndiba and Carrington Rodriguez appeared on season 3 of Perfect Match in 2025. Rodriguez appeared on Love Island: All Stars series 3 in 2026. Middlebrooks appeared on season 3 of House of Villains. Guest appearances on Love Island: Beyond the Villa by some season 2 cast have also kept the villa energy alive for longtime viewers.

Career Evolutions After the Villa

Career Evolutions After the Villa

The original coverage centered on relationships, yet fame opened new lanes. Justine Ndiba works as model, influencer, and brand ambassador (Pretty Little Thing) while hosting a podcast. Cely Vazquez releases music on Spotify and YouTube. Caleb Corprew models for brands like Bacardi and Hyundai and launched Slate Social. Laurel Goldman runs a lifestyle/fashion/travel influencer brand. These paths show how the season 2 spotlight translated into steady work rather than fleeting attention.

Social Media and Public Presence Today

Follower counts and posting habits give a clearer picture than old follow-status notes. Justine Ndiba maintains a large following and active lifestyle/travel content. Laurel Goldman posts regularly on lifestyle, fashion, beauty, and travel. The rest of the cast keeps lower profiles or selective feeds, which matches the private tone most of them asked for after the 2021 splits.

Love Island USA season 2 remains a snapshot of how quickly real-world logistics can end a villa romance. The five couples covered here all parted ways by early 2021, and those decisions have stayed final. What has changed is the way the cast turned the exposure into modeling contracts, music drops, and fresh reality rounds. Fans who still root for anyone from the season can track the work rather than the relationships, and that seems to suit the islanders just fine.
