Get to know the NCT members: Everything to know about WayV

NCT operates on a scale few K-pop acts ever attempt. The system now runs with roughly twenty-four members spread across seven subunits, and the roster keeps shifting as contracts evolve and new units form. WayV remains the China-based subunit that launched on January 17, 2019, still carrying the same two resident cats, Louis and Leon, while the larger NCT structure has added NCT DoJaeJung, NCT Wish, and NCT JNJM since the early days.

Kun: WayV member

Kun leads WayV and handles lead vocal duties. The Beijing Contemporary Music Institute graduate specializes in pop vocal performance and fills downtime with piano, cooking, and stage magic. As the only child in his family he carries the steady, parent-figure role the others lean on during packed schedules.

Ten: WayV member

Ten moves between main dancer, lead vocalist, and lead rapper positions in WayV while keeping the same triple threat status in SuperM. Born Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul, he grew up fluent in Korean, Thai, Chinese, English, and Japanese. His first dance style was B-boying, and he still lists Rihanna as the artist who shaped his stage presence. Ten’s free time splits between drawing, basketball, and surfing, though he admits most of his paycheck goes straight to new clothes.

Lucas: WayV member

Lucas left NCT and WayV in May 2023 to focus on solo work. The Hong Kong-born rapper and dancer, whose given name is Wong Yuk-hei, released the Renegade EP in 2024 and continues building an independent career while the remaining six members carry forward as a fixed lineup.

Xiao Jun: WayV member

Xiao Jun, born Xiao Dejun in Guangdong, serves as WayV’s main vocalist. He plays guitar, piano, drums, and ukulele, writes his own material, and grew up watching both parents work in the music industry. Offstage he rewatches old films, reads, and keeps a steady supply of snacks within reach.

Hendery: WayV member

Hendery, whose full name is Wong Kun-hang, hails from Macau and covers lead rap and sub-vocal lines. He plays drums, speaks Cantonese, English, Mandarin, and Korean, and still refuses to look at frogs after years of declaring them his least favorite creatures. Three older sisters round out his family picture.

Yang Yang: WayV member

Yangyang, the maknae, was raised in Düsseldorf after moving from Taiwan in fourth grade. He handles main rap, main dance, and sub-vocal parts while projecting the high-energy, compassionate vibe that defines his on-camera presence. Night-market sweet potato balls remain a favorite childhood memory, and he has started learning piano in recent months.

Winwin: WayV member

Winwin, born Dong Sicheng in Wenzhou, stays active with WayV while juggling occasional solo schedules in China. He plays guitar, speaks Chinese and Korean, and still tells the story of how SM Entertainment scouted him outside Beijing Dance Academy only to receive fake phone numbers for two years because he assumed the calls were scams.

WayV Recent Releases and Activities

The group has moved well past the 2019 debut era. Give Me That arrived in June 2024 and delivered WayV’s first music show win. Frequency followed in November 2024, Big Bands dropped in July 2025, and Eternal White closed the year in December 2025. The subunit also made its Japanese debut in 2024, expanding the discography beyond the original digital EP The Vision.

Lucas Departure and Current Lineup

With Lucas’s exit in May 2023 the active roster settled at six members. Promotional materials and official channels now present Kun, Ten, Winwin, Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang as the confirmed sextet moving forward.

Smaller pairings have taken shape alongside the main group. WayV-KUN&XIAOJUN and WayV-TEN&YANGYANG both launched in 2021 and continue releasing material while individual members drop solo tracks and appear on variety programs.

NCT Evolution and WayV's Place

The original four-subunit model has expanded. NCT DoJaeJung, NCT Wish, and NCT JNJM now sit alongside the earlier lineups, and Mark’s departure in April 2026 prompted further adjustments. Ten’s exclusive contract ended in April 2026, yet he remains part of both NCT and WayV activities under new terms.

Upcoming 2026 Plans

NCT’s tenth anniversary slate includes full-group albums and tours. WayV is slated for a new album and concert dates in the third quarter of 2026, giving the subunit its first major headline run since the 2025 EPs.

The six-member configuration and steady release cadence show a group that has absorbed roster shifts without losing momentum. Fans tracking NCT’s larger ecosystem can follow WayV’s moves through the anniversary cycle and into whatever subunit experiments surface next.
