Famous celebrities: All the bad behavior being exposed on TikTok
The culture of celebrity worship is quickly fading into the past. Actors and musicians are now being lambasted for their mistakes online, whether they be tonedeaf remarks on social issues or cringe-inducing performances of John Lennon’s “Imagine”. The celebrity criticism has become so widespread that it has spawned a massive TikTok trend known as “Rating Celebs”.
TikTok users will make videos on their chance encounters with celebrities, oftentimes exposing their diva-like behavior. In addition to recounting stories, users will assign each celebrity a score out of ten. Some celebrities have passed with flying colors, but most have affirmed the worst stereotypes regarding privilege and Hollywood excess.
Read on to find out which celebrities have behaved the worst.
Cindy, AKA @_sincindy, was one of the first TikTok users to popularize the “Ratings Celebs” format. She’s met many celebrities during her time as a flight attendant, but the one who left the worst impression was Nicki Minaj. Cindy claimed the rapper made a fuss about being the last one to exit the plane, which violated safety guidelines. She also accused Minaj of being a “huge b*tch” to her co-worker.
“She wouldn’t get off the aircraft until everybody else got off, which she can’t do because the flight attendants need to get off,” Cindy explained. “I was a fan before I met her. After? Yeah . . . no.” Minaj may have strong numbers when it comes to record sales, but the rapper earned a paltry 2/10 score from Cindy for her antics.
Kendall Jenner has been included in multiple “Rating Celebs” videos due to her “arrogant” behavior. TikTok user (and hostess) Julia Carolann claimed that Jenner refused to talk when she checked on the reality star’s table, and relied on her assistant to do all of the ordering. “She usually has someone speak for her and doesn’t speak directly to staff,” Carolann revealed.
Cindy also targeted Jenner for her aloofness, claiming that the reality star was rude to everyone she encountered. “Literally 2/10,” Cindy stated. “Every time she flew out, she was not really friendly to anybody and just walked around really arrogant.”
TikTok user Erica Smolcynski worked in restaurants in Los Angeles for over six years. She went viral after posting a “Ratings Celebs” video of her own, and the rating that got the most attention was for comedian Joel McHale. “If you think this guy looks like an a**hole, it’s ‘cause he is,” Smolcynski remarked. “He was rude to me when I asked if he still wanted to eat his artichoke.”
Smolcynski told Buzzfeed that she was hesitant to out McHale as a “douche,” but ultimately felt that it was her right to do so.“I make sure I am not saying anything too distasteful,” she stated. “I don’t want to offend anyone, just give people the facts. I think that is why I am able to just go for it.”
TikTok user Julia Carolann claimed that Hailey Bieber was extremely unpleasant whenever she was tasked with waiting on her table. “I’ve met her a handful of times and every time she was not nice,” Carolann admitted. “I really want to like her, but I have to give her, like, a 3.5 out of 10. Sorry!”
Much to Carolann’s surprise, Bieber commented on the “Rating Celebs” video and apologized for her behavior. “Just came across this video, and wanted to say so sorry if I’ve ever given you bad vibes or a bad attitude,” Bieber wrote. “That’s not ever my intention. Hate hearing that was your experience with me but glad u called me out so I can do better!! Hopefully we meet again so I can apologize in person.”
Carolann accepted the apology, calling Bieber an “accountability queen.”
Carolann had no such reconciliation with Cameron Dallas. The TikTok user recalled an unpleasant phone call with the YouTube star after he tried to book a table during closing time.
“I kind of had a bad experience with him,” Carolann stated. “Him and his friend called after we were closed and insisted on a table and kind of pulled a ‘Do you know who I am?’ moment. He was rude.” Dallas received a subpar 4/10 rating for his callous behavior.
