Get the tea on all your fave ‘Schitt’s Creek’ characters in this new book

Schitt’s Creek is the comedy series that just keeps giving! Last year, fans of the Emmy-winning series were given a behind-the-scenes look with Netflix’s Best Wishes, Warmest Regards, a documentary of the making of the hit show. Now, fans will be able to read more about the hysterical Rose family in Daniel & Eugene Levy’s new official tie-in book.

The new book, sharing the same title as the Netflix documentary, was acquired by Black Dog & Leventhal and is set to release this October. Let’s take a look at what fans can expect from Best Wishes, Warmest Regards: The Story of Schitt’s Creek.

A coffee-table book with your favorite characters

According to Entertainment Weekly, the book will feature profiles of your favorite characters including the hysterical Moira, Johnny, David, and Alexis. The characters’ in-depth profiles will include a long-awaited catalog of Moira’s wig collection and even David’s most stunning knits.

Black Dog & Leventhal publisher Kristin Kiser told EW, “We are thrilled at Black Dog & Leventhal to be part of the phenomenon that is Schitt’s Creek. What a treat for acquiring BDL publishing director Becky Koh and the rest of the team to get an up-close-and-personal peek into Dan and Eugene Levy’s singular creative vision.”

“Best Wishes, Warmest Regards will feature all the heart and humor, sweaters and wigs, and magnificent bon mots that have made Schitt’s Creek such a beloved and award-winning show”, Kiser continued.

Schitt’s Creek’s co-creator Daniel Levy created the book himself. Levy tweeted, “Spent the better part of the last year and a half putting this book together. We really wanted it to feel like a thoughtful celebration of the time we had. I’m now a tired shell of myself but apparently, you can pre-order it today which is fun/worth it!”

Get ready to read about some of Alexis’s most hysterical celebrity escapades and even Moira’s unique lexicon. Fans will even get to see an official map of the titular podunk town. Keep an eye out for Best Wishes, Warmest Regards which should be hitting the shelves this Fall!

The slow success of Schitt’s Creek

Surprisingly, the comedy series wasn’t an initial knockout success. When Schitt’s Creek first released in 2015 on the Canadian CBC channel, it received a modest audience. However, as the sixth & final season approached, the show had become an international success with a definite cult following.

As the series came to an end in its final year, the show saw a record-breaking fifteen Emmy nominations and nine wins! In 2020, Schitt’s Creek became the first-ever comedy or drama series to sweep the four acting categories at the Emmys. The Canadian sitcom truly ended on the highest note.

As a result, Toronto mayor John Tory had announced that on September 21st, 2020 the CN Tower would be lit up in gold in celebration of Schitt’s Creek’s record-breaking Emmy wins.

Possibility of an upcoming feature film

After the series came to an end, Daniel Levy was asked about the possibility of a Schitt’s Creek movie. At the time, he stated that he wasn’t committed to the idea but has expressed his interest if it were to happen.

Levy stated, “To be honest this is the best way we could have ever ended the show. If there is an idea that pops into my head it has to be really freaking good because this is a nice way to say goodbye. Fingers crossed we get a nice idea popping into our head soon. I would love to work with these people again.”

Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for a Schitt’s Creek feature film soon! Are you looking forward to reading about your favorite characters? Let us know in the comments below!
