Save ‘Shadowhunters’ S3B countdown: All the legends are true

We’ve partnered with the amazing folks at @BoomBitchesSH to help raise awareness around the historic marketing that the Shadowfam have been doing for Shadowhunters season 3B. Today we reveal the first part of the exclusive 3B poster.

Following the cancellation of Freeform’s Shadowhunters, fans have been working around the clock and around the globe to keep the award-winning fantasy show alive in the minds of fans and networks alike.

In anticipation of the Spring launch of the second half of the show’s third season, fan-led campaign group @BoomBitchesSH booked a billboard campaign in Los Angeles to advertise the show for a month (starting February 11th) as well as spread the #SaveShadowhunters message.

This is the latest in a long line of crowdfunded projects carried out since the show’s cancellation was announced on June 4th, 2018. With larger projects organized by fans from around the world such as a flying a plane over Netflix headquarters, billboards going up in Times Square, Seoul, and Toronto and banners on the classic red double-decker buses in London, this fandom has basically done it all. Over the past few months prior to having an air date for the show, @BoomBitchesSH has focused their efforts on smaller campaigns, targeting networks directly as well as sending gifts of appreciation to the cast and crew of their beloved show. If you need to know how much it costs to put a drone light show on in L.A.’s night skies (way more than the fandom can afford, turns out) or for cupcakes, balloons, flowers, and other small gifts to be delivered worldwide, they can tell you. In addition to the billboards set to go up in Los Angeles, there will also be a mobile billboard advertisement and a flyer team handing out printed materials for five days in the direct leadup to the Shadowhunters premiere date. Once a decision was made on which direction to take the campaign and after a lot of negotiation, advertisement spots were secured and paid for. All that was left was the artwork, which was a much harder task than originally anticipated. As this is a fan-led campaign, naturally it was decided the design should also originate from the fandom. We don’t want to spoil too much, so all we can say for now is that an absolute fandom icon was enlisted to create the poster design. We can’t wait for you all to see this epic work of art. Legacy of the Fandom Campaigns

The coordinated efforts of 2019 did more than secure airtime for the final episodes. Supporters raised over thirty thousand dollars for charity while funding the global billboards, plane banners, and bus takeovers. Those projects drew coverage from outlets that rarely spotlight fan-driven television campaigns, giving the Shadowfam a wider platform than many expected. Years later the same networks of organizers still coordinate convention booths and archival displays, turning the original stunts into a documented case study in organized fandom.

Where the Cast Is Now

Katherine McNamara and Dominic Sherwood have crossed paths again on new projects since the series wrapped. The rest of the principal cast continues to appear at conventions and anniversary panels, with 2026 marking the tenth year since the show first aired. These gatherings give fans a chance to revisit the characters without the pressure of a revival campaign, and the actors have spoken openly about how the original fan support shaped their post-Shadowhunters careers.

Streaming and Availability in 2026

All three seasons left Netflix on the first of January this year, closing the most accessible global streaming window for the series. The complete run totals fifty-five episodes, and physical media plus digital purchase options remain the primary routes for new viewers. The departure has prompted fans to organize watch parties and digital preservation drives, keeping the story circulating even as official platforms shift.

Ongoing Shadowhunter Universe

Cassandra Clare’s book series shows no sign of slowing down. Better in Black arrived in December 2025, and The Last King of Faerie is slated for fall 2026. Readers who discovered the world through the television adaptation now have fresh material to explore, and several authors connected to the original show have contributed short stories or forewords that bridge the televised and printed timelines.

The 2019 billboard push and its companion projects stand as a clear record of how a dedicated audience can extend a series’ life even after cancellation. While Shadowhunters concluded its run on May 6, 2019, the infrastructure built by @BoomBitchesSH and similar groups continues to surface at conventions, in charity drives, and through the ongoing book releases that keep the larger universe alive for both longtime viewers and newcomers.
