All the times Logan Paul was the worst and it boosted his net worth
Logan Paul was once known as one of the most popular YouTubers. Now, the main reason he’s known is for his controversial actions alongside brother Jake Paul. At one time, it felt like every other week there was some Paul brother scandal that rocked the internet. Logan Paul has come a long way since his first appearance on the internet and it looks like there’s nothing he won’t do for views.
Why’s Logan Paul known as a controversial influencer? Does he intentionally do bad things to boost his net worth? Here’s everything you need to know.
Paul brothers’ origin
Twenty-five-year-old Logan Paul didn’t rise to fame from YouTube. Originally, brothers Logan & Jake Paul became well-known through the video app Vine. The social media star is now known for his YouTube channels and popular podcast Impaulsive. Logan Paul’s eccentric behavior and slapstick comedy brought in a large net worth and millions of die-hard fans known as Mavericks.
Logan Paul was born in Ohio and began making videos from the age of ten. As he got older, Logan decided to put his comedic talent to good use through Vine known for their six-second-videos. Logan was known for telling jokes, pranking friends, and doing some crazy stunts. The older Paul brother accumulated over 9 million followers before the app shutdown.
Advertisers came knocking on the Paul brothers’ door when they transitioned to other forms of social media. After Vine shut down, they made thousands from sponsored posts on apps like Instagram. Deciding to pursue his dreams, Logan Paul left Ohio University and moved to Los Angeles in 2014.
Logan Paul wanted to pursue an acting career and appeared on Law & Order for a small role. Paul had the dream of being the “biggest entertainer in the world.” Now, Logan Paul runs multiple YouTube accounts that collectively have over twenty million subscribers. What went so wrong for Logan Paul?
Bad reputation
Logan Paul has not remained the blue-eyed boy that fans grew to love and admire. It began with old tweets emerging from the creator blurting racial stereotypes about black and Asian men.
Not long after, in 2017, Logan Paul uploaded a YouTube video that rocked the internet and still is discussed everywhere. Logan uploaded a vlog that showed him visiting what’s known as the “suicide forest”, but its actual name is Aokigahara forest at the base of Mount Fuji.
They entered the forest and came across a man who can be seen hanging. The group that accompanied Logan began to make jokes surrounding the tragedy they discovered. Logan was also seen entertaining the comments while making his own. Comments on the shocking video before it was taken down called it “disrespectful” and “disgusting”. Before being removed, the video in question had millions of views on YouTube.
After the appalling video was taken down, Logan Paul addressed his followers on Twitter saying that he was “misguided by shock and awe”. He also (like many other YouTubers) uploaded an apology video claiming that he “should have never posted the video.” YouTube took action and demonetized his channel, but still had earnings from previous uploads.
After a couple months being away, Logan Paul returned with a documentary focusing on suicide survivors. Only two weeks later, Logan posted footage of himself tasering two dead rats. YouTube temporarily suspended ads on videos made by Paul. With many petitions calling for the creator to lose his YouTube channel, nothing lasts and he still continues making videos to this day.
Logan Paul was also known for his music and has released several music videos to accompany his tracks. Amongst those is a video called “No Handlebars” and Logan can be seen surrounded by women. As the only plus-size woman on set, Eliza Johnson called out Logan and claimed he treated her differently from the other models.
What’s next?
The controversial creator has remained relatively quiet since the huge scandal storm. Jake Paul has taken the reins as he continues to cause havoc at every turn. Logan Paul turned his attention to boxing not too long ago and fought UK YouTuber KSI which brought in a tidy sum of $11 million to boost his net worth.
That doesn’t mean Logan still hasn’t remained controversial. Logan Paul has made some insulting comments on his podcast and continues to protect his net worth with his never-ending apologies. What will Logan Paul apologize for next?
