Did Kim Kardashian *not* vote for hubby Kanye West? All the proof
Many fans are wondering if Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian actually voted for her husband Kanye West in the recent U.S. presidential election. So, did she or didn’t she? Here’s the scoop.
The Kardashians are used to putting it all out there, but when it comes to politics, one member of the family has kept her cards close to her chest. Kim Kardashian did not publicly support any candidate in the 2020 U.S. presidential election, despite the fact that her husband, Kanye West, ran as a third-party candidate.
Kim did, however, emphasize the importance of voting, leading fans to wonder who Kardashian voted for. While the star has not confirmed which candidate received her vote this year, there are some clues from social media to indicate that she didn’t support Kanye West’s campaign.
Craggy campaign
Kim Kardashian had to deal with Kanye West’s back-and-forth political campaign to become president in 2020. West appeared on the ballot in twelve states, missing the filing deadline in most others, and getting the most votes – 10,188 – in Tennessee. Kanye’s campaign only got him a total of 60,000 votes in the election. Along the way, however, Kanye burned quite a few bridges with the media and exposed quite a few intimate family secrets.
At a rally in Charleston, South Carolina, Kanye made several confusing rants, at one point saying that 19th century abolitionist Harriet Tubman “never actually freed the slaves, she just had the slaves go to work for other white people”. West later began crying when talking about abortion, saying that his parents almost aborted him and that he had previously wanted to abort his daughter.
After Kanye’s first and only political rally, Yeezy founder took to social media quite a few times to say that his life was similar to the movie Get Out and call out Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner for trying to seek medical help on his behalf. The Daily Mail reported Kim Kardashian was very angry and considering a divorce.
Bipolar predicament
Kanye disclosed in 2019 that he had bipolar disorder and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, posted on social media amid his run asking for “compassion & empathy” for Kanye whose “words sometimes do not align with his intentions”. As well, posts on Twitter by West urging followers to write-in his name on ballots for president brought criticism that he was taking votes away from legitimate candidates.
However, even if Kardashian didn’t vote for her husband, there’s someone in the family who did – West himself. The rapper took to Twitter to announce that he was voting for himself as expected, which marks his first time voting in a U.S. presidential election. However, according to the New York Times, West was forced to write in his own name, as he’s registered to vote in Wyoming, where he didn’t make the official ballot.
Fans frenetic
For a while now, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans have been speculating if Kim Kardashian indeed voted for her husband Kanye West in the 2020 election. For one, Kim never actually campaigned for Kanye on social media. Then, as the world inched closer to the election, Kim started to share Instagram & Twitter posts encouraging her followers to vote, but never telling them to choose Kanye in 2020.
On Election Day, Kim liked a tweet from rapper Kid Cudi that supported Joe Biden & Kamala Harris’s presidential ticket. Now that they’ve won the election, Kim took to social media to celebrate their victory, adding to the ongoing speculation that she might not have voted for Kanye. Kim’s sisters Khloe Kardashian & Kendall Jenner have also publicly celebrated the Biden-Harris win.
Now obviously, it’s possible that Kim Kardashian did vote for Kanye West but is presently celebrating the presidential ticket that actually won the election. However, if that is the case, note that Kim is now showing more support for the Biden-Harris presidential win than she ever did for Kanye. From this viewpoint, it seems like she chose not to speak against her husband while also not campaigning for him, either.
