Georgie Boy was once the ultimate TikTok icon. The monkey who was known as the cute and precious family pet behind the viral TikTok profile @heresyourmonkeycontent has sadly passed away, according to a recent announcement from his family in a new TikTok video. Of course, everyone is incredibly upset over this shocking news and is remembering the cute monkey today. Let’s take a look at all his best videos here.

The horrible news

The death of the famous TikTok monkey icon Georgie Boy was first shared with the public when his family first posted of it on their TikTok account that they had used to share videos of their adorable family pet to the world. On the account @heresyourmonkeycontent, the family wrote: “We have devastating news” as clips of George from over the years flashed behind the text in the background. 

In the video, the song from the Disney animated movie Up called “Married Life” played in the background. The caption then went on to explain: “George went to the vet for a regular check-up on his teeth. During this, there were complications with the anesthesia, starting a long fight for his life. Through the fight, George was sent thousands of thoughts and prayers with the hope that he would make it”.

The family then continued to share with the world: “On June 7th at 4pm Central Georgie Boy passed away. George was a light when things seemed dark. And he was a reminder of the love that exists in all of us. Though the fun-loving life of George has left, his spirit of hope and love lives on. We love you, George”. Clips from the video showed George being pet, being held, and overall just looking very happy, content, and adorable.

A lot of fans remember George for his wonderful TikTok videos of him opening up packages for his family. One of his most recent ones that has amassed over six million views featured the monkey opening up a package for a moon lamp. The video showed him tearing open the package, pulling out the moon globe lamp, and even reading and studying the instructions paper. 

The video ended with George even plugging the lamp in himself, proving just how intelligent monkeys can be. It was such a unique and fun video to see, and it’s clear why fans are so absolutely devastated over his passing. Rest in peace, George. You will truly be missed!
