When in the world is ‘Dragula’ returning? Get all the tea on season 4

Dragula isn’t like any vampire show you’ve seen before. Yes, the name Dragula might sound familiar (Dracula), but we’re here to tell you that the series The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula is actually a (drag) floor show where contestants, aka queens, have the chance to win a major cash prize and look good doing it!

This reality show is a super twist on drags with Swanthula & Dracmorda also known as “The Boulet Brothers”. Not only do they bring horror & finesse to the drag culture, but they bring out everyone’s inner Dragula with total flare! According to Digital Spy, the competition is ready for their fourth season but will be changing streamers. Let’s take a look.

Pandemic’s conditions

According to Forbes, the monster drag show Dragula, (like every other show) was “delayed due to the pandemic”. However, last year, by the time of the spooky Halloween special, Dracmorda Boulet stated: “We have always wanted to bring our stars back in front of the camera . . . We have done three seasons at this point and people fall in love with them.”

Dracmorder Boulet added: “We have always wanted to get back on TV but in an original format.”

Since then, fans are eager to sink their teeth into the next season!

Season 4

Dragula season 4 will come months after the show’s thrilling Halloween special. In fact, the winner of season 3, Saint, expressed that it was extremely exciting to throw a floor show in her hometown.

Saint told Digital Spy: “For season 4 I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to capture that feeling of not caring about other people’s looks.” They continued, saying “I was thinking about what I wanted to have on my promotional look and what challenges that usually return like Monsters of Rock, and the top three, the Filth, Horror and Glamour looks. Just those little bit of things.”

As thrilled as we are to see Saint get back on that stage, Saint has claimed that it could be quite the “tough competition” this season, and let’s face it “the Boulets don’t cast unless they think the queens are ready” and we couldn’t agree more!

Moving to Shudder

You might’ve enjoyed Dragula on various streaming platforms, but thanks to the show’s increasing demand & popularity, the gripping drag series will finally move to Shudder!

Deadline reported the Boulet Brothers stated: “Joining forces with Shudder marks the beginning of an exciting new era for The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula, and Season 4 is lining up to be the most ambitious season to date.”

They added: “We will be featuring some of the most groundbreaking drag art in the world and with $100,000 on the line, the competition (and the challenges) are going to be deadly.”

In fact, Shudder is excited to have the Dragula team on board as Craig Engler stated: “We are thrilled to be working with the incredible talented Boulet Brothers on a new season that will be bigger, better and more outrageous than ever.”

Per Deadline, the manager continued: “This show brilliantly merges underground drag and horror, showcasing a diverse group of artists, and we’re delighted to bring it to Shudder members alongside all three previous seasons.” That’s right, you’ll be able to relive the drag-tastic show all over again on Shudder!

Returning to the throne?

We also know that season 4 of Dragula will bring back some legendary queens, but could Saint win a second season in a row?

Though Saint is worried about the “tough competition”, she quickly reassured fans that she’s still ready to slay. “Luckily, I think I’m in quite a decent headspace where I believe I will be able to deliver on it.”

In the interview with Digital Spy, Saint explained: “It feel like I have an advantage, even coming back for ‘The Boulet Brothers: Dragula: Resurrection,’ even though it wasn’t a proper season, it was just the advantage of being around the Boulets again and doing a floor show and talking in front of a camera.”

Despite Saint’s hesitation in the beginning, she won the Resurrection special and since then, she’s received praise from fans as season 3’s champion. But we’re going to have to just wait and see if Saint comes out victorious . . .  again

Season 4 of Dragula will premiere on Shudder so stay tuned to find out the date! Are you excited for the next season? Let us know in the comments below.
