Crazy celebrity deaths: All the cases we’re still heartbroken over
When celebrities die it is always a big deal. And for a good reason – their work can have a great impact on our lives. Wonderful musicians, actors, & idols grace us with their talent and often charm us with their personality or fashion. When something unexpected takes their life, it causes fans all over the world to experience heartbreak.
Some celebrity deaths have shocked us over the years and we’re still crushed to have lost them. The circumstances of these crazy deaths continue to weigh on us.
Heath Ledger
At the height of his acting career, Heath Ledger suddenly passed after overdosing on a slew of different prescription pills in 2008. His overdose happened after reportedly having serious troubles falling asleep. While many ruled that there was no indication that Ledger was suicidal, Ledger was certainly facing hardships after his dark roles & a split with Michelle Williams.
Highly-acclaimed for his amazing performances in Brokeback Mountain, The Dark Knight Rises, & 10 Things I Hate About You, Ledger is dearly missed.
Whitney Houston
In 2012, talented musician Whitney Houston was found unconscious in an LA hotel room, submerged in the bathtub. Shocked by the strange circumstances, many were confused about what really had happened to the music icon.
Ultimately, the strange drowning was determined to be accidental, with the “effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use” contributing to the tragic accident.
John Lennon
Cherished musical figurehead from the Beatles, John Lennon was shot and killed outside of his Manhattan apartment on December 8, 1980. The world was swept with grief, unable to understand why someone would do this.
The shooter, Mark David Chapman, was deemed borderline psychotic by psychiatrists but chose to plead guilty instead of pleading insanity. The killer said that he gunned down Lennon because he thought “that by killing John Lennon, I would become somebody.” Sickened by the motives, many are still torn up about Lennon’s death.
Cory Monteith
Back in 2013, beloved Glee star Cory Monteith was found dead in his hotel room. An autopsy revealed that his death was an accident caused by a mixed toxicity in his blood levels from heroin and alcohol use.
With a history of drug & alcohol abuse, Monteith struggled to cope with Hollywood life. The tragic accident that took him still weighs on the hearts of many Glee fans.
Brittany Murphy
In 2009, the world was shook when actress Brittany Murphy suddenly passed. Her death was explained to be a heart attack brought on by underlying heart conditions & drug abuse. However, many question the circumstances of her death – especially considering some of the strange behavior of her husband, Simon Monjack.
Many hope that upon further investigation more truths about Brittany’s death will be unveiled – including many of her speculative family members who are still unconvinced that it was an accident.
Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson, the hailed “King of Pop” was found dead in his bed in 2009 from “acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication.” Because the drugs were prescribed to him by a doctor, his sudden death stirred up a lot of controversy.
Conrad Murray, his primary care physician at the time, was convicted for manslaughter and sentenced to four years in jail. Murray’s dosage on the prescription that was meant to help Michael sleep proved to be too powerful for the influential popstar.
Kurt Cobain
In Seattle, Washington at the age of 27, Kurt Cobain was found with a fatal head wound and a gun in his hands. After escaping a rehab center, Cobain went missing and was found many days later in a greenhouse by an electrician.
Cobain had reportedly been sharing suicidal thoughts and was struggling with heroin addiction. Yet, some still aren’t convinced it was a suicide, as authorities ruled it to be. Even though it happened back in 1991, his death still hurts the hearts of many Nirvana fans.
