Courteney Cox is joining some of her 'Friends' castmates with an Emmys nomination. Will she become one of the winners this year? Find out now!

Could actress Courteney Cox finally become an Emmy winner this year?

Ever since the 90s when Courteney Cox landed her role as Monica Geller in the hit show Friends, she has been one of the most well-known actresses ever. The hilarious 90s sitcom also starred Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt Leblanc. These six incredible actors knew exactly how to play off of each other’s energy in every single scene throughout all ten seasons of their show.

Without a show like Friends, so many other TV shows that follow its dynamic wouldn’t exist today. We’re talking about shows that heavily focused on friendship like The Big Bang Theory, New Girl, and Friends From College. At the end of the day, Friends isn’t the only reason Courteney Cox is who she is today, but it could be the reason why she will possibly earn an Emmy Award, finally joining the echelon of Emmy winners.

Courteney Cox’s major TV show

Aside from Friends, Courteney Cox also starred in a show called Cougar Town from 2009 to 2015. The show focuses on a woman who’s facing the harsh realities of getting back into the dating scene after going through a messy divorce.

She must navigate the dating world through its myriad of winners & losers, even though it’s much harder to meet a potential suitor at an older age. She finds dating younger men to be pretty enjoyable, and the premise of the show sheds light on that. Now that Cox’s character is older with kids in tow, there’s a lot more for her to focus on throughout her path to romantic happiness.

Most recently, in 2021, Courteney Cox appeared in the Friends: The Reunion special that premiered with the rest of her castmates. During the reunion, she & her castmates discussed a lot of interesting subject matter about their hit TV show. It was a great moment of reflection for the entire bunch since they’ve all come a very long way.

Courteney Cox’s personal life

Courteney Cox was married to David Arquette from 1999 to 2013, and they share a daughter together who was born in June 2004. Ever since that relationship came to an end, she’s been dating a man named Johnny McDaid. He’s a member of Snow Patrol, winners at the BMI Awards in 2005, 2007, and 2008, and they seem to be doing just fine.

Despite the fact that Cox & MacDaid spent a huge chunk of the COVID-19 pandemic separated, it didn’t impact their relationship in a negative way. They spent nine months apart due to travel restrictions but they have since been reunited which is absolutely wonderful. She will be able to celebrate her possible Emmy Award alongside her longtime boyfriend if everything pans out the way it’s supposed to.

Courteney Cox’s Emmy Award nomination

For some reason, every other cast member from Friends has been nominated for Emmy Awards in the past, but Courteney Cox is barely receiving her first nomination now.

On The Howard Stern Show, she spoke about her discomfort surrounding the whole thing saying, “Yeah, it always hurt my feelings. When every single cast member was nominated but me, it definitely hurt my feelings. I was happy for everybody, and then when it was finally like, ‘Oh, I’m the only one?’ It hurt.” It seems unfair & wrong for her to have been snubbed this whole time.

Things are clearly turning around for Cox now who has received her Emmy Award nomination (finally) for her time playing Monica Geller.

Will Courteney Cox actually win the Emmy Award?

Courteney Cox is one of the most deserving actresses to star on such a popular sitcom which means the idea of her winning an Emmy Award makes all the sense in the world. The Emmy Award show won’t be taking place until September 2021, but when it does we will finally get some answers & closure about this exciting situation.

Do you think Courteney Cox should finally join Emmy winners and earn the award? Are you excited to see her nominated? Let us know in the comments below!
