James Corden was born in Hillingdon, London on August 22nd, 1978. He began performing at a very early age, and by the time he was eighteen years old, Corden was a working actor. His first role was in the show Out of Tune, a little-known sitcom that ran for three seasons from 1996-1998.

Corden got his second TV role when he was only twenty. Boyz Unlimited was a comedic miniseries about friends trying to start a boy band. It wouldn’t be the last time Corden’s musical abilities benefited his career. 

Throughout his twenties, Corden began picking up small movie roles, but it was his TV appearances that won him the most acclaim. He scored a nomination for the Royal Television Society Award for his role in the sitcom Fat Friends.

After Gavin & Stacey ended, James Corden had more opportunities available to him than ever before. In 2011, Corden began hosting Carpool Karaoke, which had begun as a sketch related to Gavin & Stacey. Corden navigates traffic while singing karaoke with different celebrity musicians. The show became a massive online hit. In 2016, Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segment with the singer Adele was the most watched YouTube video of the year. 

Later that same year, Apple Music licensed the rights to an adaptation of Carpool Karaoke from Corden. He serves as executive producer on the show instead of hosting it, as his schedule nowadays is too busy for another hosting gig.
