Wait a second – How much money is Cardi B making on OnlyFans?
Cardi B knows how to make money. The entertainer has landed multiple number one hits on Billboard as well as prime spots on film and television. She’s an industry staple, and now she’s taking her valuable brand to OnlyFans. Cardi B joined the platform a few months ago and she’s quickly become one of the platform’s top earners.
A graphic posted (and deleted) by rapper Casanova was reposted by Erica Mena, Cardi’s former Real Housewives co-star. The graphic showed off the celebrities that are earning the most money on OnlyFans, and Cardi placed near the top. Cardi reportedly makes $8 million per month on OnlyFans, which is the third-highest total on the platform behind Blac Chyna & Bella Thorne.
Monthly earnings
Cardi B’s OnlyFans earnings are going to boost her already sizable fortune. Capital Xtra reported that the rapper has an estimated net worth of $24 million. Most of this fortune comes from her music and her various endorsement deals with brands like Pepsi & Balenciaga. According to MBW, however, OnlyFans may be one of Cardi’s largest sources of income yet.
The OnlyFans earnings calculator states that a creator with a million Instagram followers could earn between $49,900 and $249,500 per month, based on the estimate that between 1% and 5% of their social media fans on other platforms will subscribe. Cardi B has over 70 million followers on Instagram, which means her profits could rise to a whopping $18 million per month in the near future.
These potential earnings do not include income from tips and chargeable PPV messages, so it’s possible that Cardi’s earnings could even be higher. Given her celebrity status and the fact she’s only been on the platform for a short time, it seems likely she will continue to add to her monthly earnings.
Diverse topics
Cardi may be known for her provocative music, but she told her Instagram followers that her OnlyFans account is not for sexual purposes. She claimed that there will be no nudity on her account and that she will instead focus on answering questions from fans. “I’m thinking about putting more personal content there – personal, but nothing sexual or anything,” she assured.
The rapper talked about her OnlyFans plans during a Radio.com interview. She felt the app was a good platform to get closer with her fans and address criticisms of her music. “If the goal is for y’all to get a reaction out of me, then y’all gonna get a reaction out of me, but y’all gotta pay me,” she joked.
Other topics Cardi has covered on her OnlyFans include motherhood, personal issues, her music career, and her recent surgery. She also voiced her desire to have guests on her account so that she can conduct interviews and help them deal with “bad situations”. Cardi has already interviewed several high-profile figures on YouTube, including Bernie Sanders & Joe Biden.
Celebrity privilege
Cardi’s success on OnlyFans has led to some pushback from other content creators. A creator named Kat told Grit Daily that celebrities are cutting into the space that was previously reserved for middle class sex workers.
“If it wasn’t for the sex workers in the beginning posting their content no one would know that people also use the platform for workout routines, to showcase their art, or their music,” Kat stated. “It’s a platform for small time creators and I personally think it’s unfair for people who have money in the millions to be joining a site that caters to middle class or lower class individuals.”
Adult film star Carter Cruise supported Kat’s concerns. She told the outlet that the presence of celebrities like Cardi B will lead OnlyFans to crack down on channels helmed by non-famous creators. “I wouldn’t be surprised if OnlyFans [turned] themselves into a more mainstream platform like they originally intended now that they’ve gotten culturally relevant due to sex workers.”
