Billie Eilish: Who cares who the “Xanny” singer is dating right now?

Which celebrity isn’t getting exposed for scandals and getting “cancelled” these days? From the past week on Twitter, it seemed like Billie Eilish was the next star that was heading down that same road after she was exposed by folks for many things. Some actions that the pop singer has gotten called out for include being racist, “queerbaiting”, and also dating someone who had been caught for homophobic and racist comments.

Her boyfriend

Well, the “Xanny” singer sure is in a lot of mess this time, but where do we even start with the controversy that is now surrounding Billie Eilish? This situation all spiraled out of control when fans first found out about her much older boyfriend named Matthew Tyler Vorce. First off, when folks first found out about their relationship, many were concerned that Vorce had groomed Eilish as the two had a ten year age difference. 

Billie Eilish is just nineteen-years-old with Matthew Tyler Vorce is twenty-nine-years-old, and so the wide age gap made fans of the “Xanny” singer incredibly concerned for their fave pop star. However, this was far from the beginning of the complaints. Eventually, people began to do some serious research, and found out some problematic info on Matthew Tyler Vorce. 

People found Matthew Tyler Vorce’s old tweets and Facebook posts, where he had allegedly used offensive language and slurs about black people, Asians, and gay people. Vorce also allegedly called Adele “British Miss Piggy” back in 2012.

What about Billie? 

The tea on the “Xanny” singer’s boyfriend seemed to just be the beginning of this scandal as after Vorce’s past offensive comments leaked to the internet, people also found old videos of Billie Eilish herself being problematic. First off, some folks accused the star of “queerbaiting” from her “Lost Cause’ music video. 

The music video saw her hanging out with a group of girls and in bed with them, dancing, playing Twister, and more. When the pop star shared outtakes and behind the scenes shots on her Instagram, she captioned it with “i love girls”. However, this accusation is still being widely debated amongst people, and many disagree that it was actually a true example of “queerbaiting”.  

However, there can’t be a defense for the next issue, as the pop star was also exposed for racist comments in the past. A TikTok was passed around social media where Billie Eilish can be seen saying the racial slur “c***k” against Asian people. Another video showed the star’s brother calling out Billie Eilish for using a “blaccent”, or an African-American English accent, while speaking.

Apologies

Since being exposed, Matthew Tyler Vorce has expressed an apology on his Instagram story, telling the world: “I want to apologize for the things that I wrote on social media in the past. The language I used was hurtful and irresponsible and I understand how offensive those words are. Whether it was a lyric, a quote or just me being dumb, it does not matter”.

“I am ashamed and deeply sorry that I used them in any context. It is not how I was raised and it is not what I stand for,” he continued. “I shouldn’t have used this language in the first place and I won’t use it again. I am so sorry for the hurt I have caused. I take full responsibility and continue to hold myself accountable for my actions”, he ended his comments with.

So does this mean Billie Eilish will speak out about this controversy soon? After all, it seems like she’s got a lot of explaining to do for her racist comments. . . We guess we’ll find out soon.
