The birthday bash for Barack Obama looks like it was one of the wildest of the summer. Did this opulent birthday bash run afoul of the CDC's guidelines?

Breaking Covid protocol? The most shocking Barack Obama Birthday revelations

Former President Barack Obama’s planned birthday would have been the biggest bash of the year. However, the rise of the highly contagious Delta variant of COVID-19 led the Obama family to significantly scale back the birthday event.

The original guest list was said to have included 475 people. The Obama’s promised to exclude attendees outside of their close friends & family. Despite this contraction, the party still seemed like it was still a rather large gathering. The decision to have the celebration has been met with significant criticism.

The celebration

Barack Obama spent his 60th birthday at his luxury home on Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. The Obama’s bought the $11.75 million estates in 2019. The 6,900-square-foot home has seven bedrooms & eight-and-a-half bathrooms. A massive party tent & the dance floor was set up on the property’s twenty acres.

Rapper Trap Beckham and his manager TJ Chapman took pictures of the event, which were later deleted due to the event’s photography ban. Many were able to see the images of high-end food & drinks before they were scrubbed. Beckham and Chapman also shared footage of themselves smoking cannabis, which is legal in the state of Massachusetts.

“Had to delete everything due to the rules,” Beckham explained. “It was epic for sure. If any videos surface it’s going viral. He danced the whole time. Nobody ever seen Obama like this before.” He reportedly performed a version of his hit song “Birthday Bitch” for Obama. Beckham later apologized to the Obamas for posting images from the birthday party.

Barack Obama was seen dancing without a mask with other unmasked attendees in a now-deleted video posted by singer-songwriter Erykah Badu. Alicia Keys & John Legend allegedly sang happy birthday to the forty-fourth president.

Scaling back the guest list

“Due to the spread of the delta variant over the past week, the President and Mrs. Obama have decided to significantly scale back the event to include only family and close friends. President Obama is appreciative of others sending their birthday wishes from afar and looks forward to seeing people soon,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

Last week, President Joe Biden, Barack Obama’s former vice president, announced that he would not attend the birthday bash. In a statement, Biden said he was looking forward to getting together with Obama soon.

Oprah Winfrey allegedly did not attend due to concerns about the Delta variant. Other celebs seen on Martha’s Vineyard that weekend included Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Don Cheadle, and Stephen Colbert. It is not known if any of them actually attended the birthday bash.

Obama has been outspoken in his support of the coronavirus vaccine. He and former first lady Michelle Obama have themselves been vaccinated since March of this year. The Obamas also appeared in a video with former Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and their wives urging Americans to take the vaccine. It is not known if the Obamas required attendees to be vaccinated.

No drone zone

Last week, the CDC added Dukes County to the list of high-risk counties based on the COVID positivity rate. Martha’s Vineyard is located in Dukes County. Surrounding Bristol, Barnstable, and Nantucket counties are also among the Massachusetts counties considered high-risk by the CDC.

Many were outraged after drone photos showed massive tents set up on the Obama’s compound. Some social media users suggested the party was larger than the press release suggested. Conservative pundits complained that the former Democratic president was flaunting CDC guidelines & setting a bad example.

The United States Secret Service announced that airspace above the event would be restricted. This restriction included drones & unmanned aircraft. The use of drones in military settings began to rise in popularity during the Obama administration. In 2009, the first year of his presidency, the CIA conducted over 100 drone strikes.
